FPL Updates XI - Euro 2016

Goalkeeper

In between the sticks we have gone with Manuel Neuer, who has only let one goal in across the whole tournament! With 4 clean sheets to his name, he will be looking to keep hold of the golden glove, however with that being said, all 4 teams have brilliant attacking potential, meaning clean sheets may be somewhat unlikely in the semi finals. Therefore it may be a wise choice to create a few lineups with different defences, ensuring you have coverage if the unlikely clean sheet happens!

Defenders

At the back we have stuck with Jerome Boateng and gambled on the possibility of him getting on the end of a corner or the possibility of a clean sheet, however as mentioned, the latter may be somewhat unlikely. Other than the big German, there are many other options that you may look to include in your main line-up or even in one of the other 19 line-ups. Specifically, it should be the fullbacks who may be able to pick up the odd assist or even find the back of the net as they find themselves a little further up the field than the centre backs. With this being said, the likes of Bacary Sagna, Cedric Soares and Neil Taylor could find themselves being selected in many teams.

Midfielders

In the middle of the park there are a few viable options, of which FPL Updates have gone with Julian Draxler. The German midfielder has worked his way into the starting eleven and has shown that he certainly knows were the back of the net is. With Gomez ruled out, he could also find himself starting a bit further forward against France too. There are other solid picks from Germany too, being the likes of Mesut Ozil and Tony Kroos. Ramsey would have been the best pick from Wales, but he is suspended, however if you fancy a punt from Portugal, then Renato Sanches is your man. Let not forget France though, who have an abundance of talent in their midfield, with the likes of Dimitri Payet and Paul Pogba.

Forwards

Up top there is a tonne of fantasy football potential, which is where it will be most beneficial to use your FLEX position on. We have done just this and have banked with a high scoring Wales vs. Portugal fixture with the two main men hitting the back of the net. Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo make our team, however there are plenty other options out there that are worth a place in your fantasy fives. France will have the likes of Olivier Giroud and Antionne Grizmann, who both will be looking for that Golden Boot, as they are on 3 and 4 goals respectively. Germany will be without Gomez, but its surely only a matter of time before Muller picks up his first goal? If you really wanted to take a punt, then Robson-Kanu and Nani could be the differential to one of your 20 teams!

With that being said, good luck all. If you haven’t already be sure to join FPL Updates by clicking the banner below and start creating your teams! Details of the scoring system for this game can be found at Fanager.com
