Gameweek 23 Sky Preview – Fantasy Football Tips

Gameweek 23 was stolen by Man City’s performance against Aston Villa. The 7-1 drubbing provided 2 20+ scores and gigantic opportunities to fly up the ranks. All results went to plan except a shock loss for Leicester. With Leicester players heavily owned, it will be giving managers to question as to whether they remain in your side after the overhaul. Only 3 gameweeks to go!

Goalkeepers

6 clean sheets were kept this week and half of which came from the big six. Henderson owners would’ve been his 9 pointer on FNF. Liverpool and Allison kept their 6th on bounce.

Defenders

Azpilicueta made it back to back attacking returns with an assist this week, passing bonus and a rare CS. Teammate James nearly matched him with an assist. Liverpool’s defence all made passing bonus with their CS. Digne racked up his 4th assist of the season and his second double figure score since gameweek 2. Williams £4.8m won a penalty and helped United earn a CS from left back. He’s a steal at that price if he became nailed.

The 3 Man City defenders all hit 60+ passes with Cancelo make Tier 2 passing and tackling. While Wolves haven’t been keeping clean sheets, centre back Coady has made 70+ passes in his last two games.

Midfielders

Mahrez smashed it this week and bagged his 6th double figure haul of the season. Owned by less than 10%, he braced, got an assist and made passing and SoT bonus. It’s also made him the 3rd highest scoring mid. Richarlison continues to return and this week he scored and picked up an array of bonus. His 15 pointer makes him the second highest scoring mid. The Watford mids are thriving under Pearson and are showing great value. Doucoure scored and assisted this week, while Sarr assisted. Dendoncker got a rare goal and notched 70+ passes against Wolves. Henderson is a bonus magnet in the Reds midfield and has earned points for the 6th consecutive week.

Forwards

Aguero stole the headlines this week with a mammoth score thanks to his hat-trick against a shocking Villa defence. He also bagged MOTM, an assist and SoT bonus of course. The Argentinian differential would’ve tallied you 52 points as captain. Jesus also chipped in as they started up front together with a goal and an assist. Rashford continues to tick over as one of the most consistent attackers. He braced and received his 5th MOTM. Firmino scored the winner against Spurs for just his 7th of the season. Ings continues to hit the back of the net and has now scored double the amount of Firmino. His long term fixtures are fantastic too. Deeney and Abraham made returned for the 2nd time in 3 weeks thanks to a goal and MOTM performance against struggling Bournemouth and Burnley.

Captain conundrums

Saturday: Man City against Palace at 3pm is the standout game with KDB being the obvious safe pick, but if you own Aguero or Mahrez, they’re also great picks but come with a bigger risk.

Sunday: Vardy away to struggling Burnley is the safe choice, with high potential. A Liverpool defender may be a shrewd pick against Utd if you believe it’ll be a tight, low scoring game. You’re almost guaranteed a minimum 5 points from VVD. Salah or Mané could also explode.

*We will know the lineups for all games from now

Tuesday: A city attacker against Sheffield Utd or if you feel like a punt I fancy Richarlison to do well against Newcastle.

Wednesday: Rashford at home to Burnley could see another double digit haul but he could only net in the final seconds in the reverse fixture. Leicester at home to West Ham provides another great option, with the obvious choice being Vardy.

Thursday: Liverpool defender for a high floor. Liverpool attacker for a higher ceiling
