Lewis Freestone – Fantasy Football Potential

Brighton have announced the signing of left back, Lewis Freestone on a free transfer, putting pen to paper on a one year deal. The 19 year old had spent two weeks on trial with Brighton’s under-23’s, impressing enough to sign a deal.

Here’s what under-23’s coach, Simon Rusk had to say about the signing:

“Lewis is a versatile left-sided defender who has been with us during pre-season. He has impressed enough to earn a one-year contract. That will give us the opportunity to work closely with him on his development over the coming season in our under-23 set up.”

Player History

Freestone started his career at Peterborough United, with him making his League One professional debut with the club in April 2017 in a 2-1 defeat against Fleetwood Town. During his 2 years a Peterborough United he was loaned out to a number of clubs, being Cambridge City, St Albans City, Guiseley, Nuneaton Borough and Bedford Town. Across all 5 teams he made just 18 appearances.

Fantasy Football Potential

Freestone will join the under-23’s this season, meaning it is highly unlikely that he will feature in the Premier League this season and with Brighton being one of the favourites for relegation, it is highly unlikely that he’ll feature in any fantasy football teams either.
