Norwich City have signed Rob Nizet from Anderlecht for an undisclosed fee on a three year deal. Aged 17, Nizet plays at left back, but can also play across the centre of defence. He has joined Norwich City as their fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
Norwich City are looking to bolster their squad for the up coming season after winning the Championship, and tweeted the following subsequent to his signing:
“We are delighted to announce the signing of left-back Rob Nizet on a three-year contract from Aderlecht. The Belgium U17 international will initially join our Under-23s for the upcoming season. Welcome Rob”
Nizet has progressed through the youth academy of Anderlecht over the past 4 years, although he was yet to sign a professional contract with the club.
Internationally, Nizet has been capped for various youth levels with Belgium, with him helping them reach the quarter finals of the U-17 European Championships last month.
Fantasy Football Potential
The young Belgian will initially join the Canaries U-23’s, joining up with other recent signings that Norwich have made (Archie Mair and Daniel Adshead). Norwich are clearly looking to improve the standard of their U-23’s side with the signings they have made this summer, whilst some players will also be going out on loan.
That said, Norwich City’s opening 5 fixtures are; Liverpool (A), Newcastle (H), Chelsea (H), West Ham (A) and Manchester City (H). Therefore, with this tough opening schedule, playing last years top 3 in the opening 5, Norwich City players are likely to have a low TSB% (teams selected by) at the start of the season.
