Gameweek 13 Captaincy Analysis – Fantasy Football Tips

Gameweek 13 saw another great return for our captaincy selections with the 3 main picks scoring an average of 9.3 points, even our gamble selection scored 7 points! Now the International Break is coming to an end many fantasy managers are looking ahead to gameweek 13, but before we look at this weeks captaincy picks, here’s a breakdown of how last weeks picks did:

1. Tammy Abraham – 8 point
2. Heung-Min Son – 8 points
3. Jamie Vardy – 12 points
Differential – Leandro Trossard – 1 point
Gamble – Saido Mane – 7 points

Fingers crossed for better returns this week, here’s our top picks for the up coming gameweek:

1. Jamie Vardy (BHA)

He hasn’t blanked in four games now, and has scored 8 goals and assisted twice in his last 6 games, what a record that is! The xG statto’s who I’m convinced work on commission will tell you that he is massively over performing his xG, but being honest I don’t look too much at that stat, he’s clinical and always has been ever since he came to Leicester, there’s no doubting how good he is! Leicester take on Brighton this week, and not many have been able to stop Vardy so far this season, and I don’t think Brighton will neither!

2. Saido Mane (CRY)

Another player in relatively good form recently is Mane, scoring two and assisting two in his last 3 games. Liverpool are still yet to lose a game so far this season, largely thanks to Mane’s crucial goals in the last few weeks. I think they may struggle against Crystal Palace this week, however considering how good Mane and Liverpool are, I really don’t know how you can stop this team from being lethal in the box. He’s owned by 36% of FPL managers and will certainly be a popular captaincy option, so bare that in mind when choosing your captain!

3. Raul Jimenez (BOU)

What’s crazy about Jimenez is that we all tried fitting him in to our teams at the start of the season, and now he seems to be a bit of a forgotten man. He’s scored three times in the last 5 games, even getting two assists in that time for Wolves. He’s only owned by 12% too, but I’d imagine a lot of those are ghost players now. They take on a Bournemouth side that are, as-always, ridiculously inconsistent, keeping three clean sheets on the bounce, then conceding 2 to Newcastle. If Wolves continue their form, I think Jimenez could be a good captaincy option, and an additional bonus is his low ownership!

Differential – Gerard Deulofeu (BUR)

On the topic of inconsistent, I think this man is the perfect description of that. One week he’s absolutely brilliant, the other week though, he struggles to last 60 minutes. The last two games though he’s been really good, and a reason for why Watford have managed to get a few points on the board finally. He’s scored twice and assisted once and finally looks like he’s finding some form, and if he takes that into Burnley’s game on the weekend, he could really be a good differential option, and one that has gone under the radar!

Gamble – Tammy Abraham (MCI)

No Man City players for captaincy this week, because I actually think Abraham has a good chance of getting on the scoresheet. Liverpool were brilliant prior to the International Break at exploring Man City’s weakness, and I think Chelsea will do the same with Abraham. They’ve been brilliant all year at breaking sides down, and with Man City having an injury crisis at the back, I think Abraham will look forward to this one! There’s no doubting that Man City are unreal, but they can be beaten as we have seen a few times this season, and I certainly think Chelsea could be another team to do that if Abraham is on form!
