Gameweek 14 Captaincy Analysis – Fantasy Football Tips

Gameweek 14 saw another great return for our captaincy selections with the 3 main picks scoring an average of 9.33 points! Now the fixtures are starting to come thick and fast, many managers are already looking ahead to gameweek 14, but before we look at this weeks captaincy picks, here’s a breakdown of how last weeks picks did:

1. Jamie Vardy – 12 point
2. Saido Mane – 9 points
3. Raul Jimenez – 7 points
Differential – Gerard Deulofeu – 2 point
Gamble – Tammy Abraham – 2 points

Fingers crossed for better returns this week, here’s our top picks for the up coming gameweek:

1. Saido Mane (BHA)

Always tough writing about a Liverpool attacker, because is there anything left to write about them?! They are all phenomenal and have been on an insane run of games where they have scored at least once, in fact, you’d have to go back to April for the last time they didn’t score! Mane has been in good form recently too, blanking only once in the last 7 weeks, scoring 4 and assisting 3 in that time! Brighton are usually okay at the back, but I don’t see Mane ending this brilliant run!

2. Kevin De Bruyne (NEW)

What a season De Bruyne is having! Every time I watch him he impresses me, making the game look incredibly easy. He has 3 goals and already has assisted ten times, well on his way to breaking that record set by Thierry Henry many years ago. It’s clear to see how important he is for this Man City side, and they’ll need him against Newcastle, where he’ll be looking to add to assist tally and hopefully get close to breaking Henry’s record!

3. Son Heung-Min (BOU)

I wasn’t too sure how Spurs would play in their first game under Mourinho, however I was impressed with two players in particular, Alli and Son. Son got an assist and a goal, while I thought Alli looked like himself from a year or two ago, something we haven’t seen for a while! They take on a Bournemouth side this week, who have struggled this year defensively, keeping three clean sheets (all in a row unbelievably!), however have looked shaky at the back. Mourinho’s side have scored 7 since his arrival, so I’d definitely consider Son for captaincy this week!

Differential – Christian Pulisic (WHU)

It was initially Abraham that I advised for captaincy, however he is a major doubt for the game this week due to a hip injury, so I substituted him for Pulisic for this week. He is nowhere near as popular as Abraham, and has been in a lot better form too, scoring 5 in only 3 games, solidifying his place in the starting lineup. He is only owned by 11% of players too, and may prove to be a shrewd signing, as they take on a struggling West Ham side that have been conceding left right and centre recently!

Gamble – Anthony Martial (AVL)

You never know what you’re going to get with Martial. One week he looks unbelievable, the next it looks like he’s just been introduced to the sport and just runs around offering nothing. He’s a big gamble to own, let alone captain, so this one is for the brave FPL owners. They take on Aston Villa this week, who haven’t kept a clean sheet away from home this season thus far. He’s a huge gamble as there are more safer players to captain, but if Martial turns up, it could be a cracking differential option!
