This article will look at 5 players selected by user 5% of managers that could be strong differentials for gameweek 22 for a one week punt or beyond to push managers up the overall rankings.
Matt Doherty (£6.1m) – Wolves – 4.9% TSB
In gameweek 22 Wolves host. Newcastle side who look far from their best. Their away form has been very poor this season and combining this with the high number of injuries they are experiencing, it is hard to see Newcastle getting a result here. Also Doherty has 2 attacking returns in the last 3 starts alone. He may play RWB but him and Traore link up very well and we see Doherty appearing at RW at some times during the game. This means Doherty has the potential for both attacking and defensive returns and the chances seem to be he will get at-least one of these.
Riyad Mahrez (£8.4m) – Manchester City – 4.9% TSB
Mahrez seems to have found his place in the side having started 3 of the last 4 matches and being brought on at half time in the other match. In these 3 starts he has returned 2 assists and a goal. Man City play Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United in their next 3 matches, teams who have struggled defensively in recent weeks.
Nicolas Pépé (£9.1m) – Arsenal – 2.3% TSB
Pepe looks like a new player under Arteta as he returned a strong 10 pointer in gameweek 21. The way he is playing, mimics sterling and there is suspicion that Arteta will look to train develop Pepe in the same way he did Sterling at Man City. If this is the case Pepe could be in for some strong FPL returns. Arsenal travel to Crystal Palace in gameweek 22, a team who kept a clean sheet in 5. This is then followed by Sheffield United, Chelsea and Burnley.
Gerard Deulefeu (£6.1m) – Watford – 2.6% TSB
He has returned 2 goals and an assist in his last 3 gameweeks including fixtures against Wolves and Sheffield United who are normally good defensively. In the new look Watford side, he looks back to his best and is unplayable at times. In gameweek 22 Watford travel to Bournemouth who are struggling to say the least. This is followed by Spurs Villa Everton and Brighton, none of which are notoriously strong defensively. Deeney at 6.2 and 1% owned I’d also a good differential as he is on penalties. He has returned 3 goals in the past 4 gameweeks.
Felipe Anderson (£6.6m) – West Ham – 3.0% TSB
Anderson has 1 goal and 1 assist in the last 2 gameweeks and looks a revived player under Moyes. In the next 2 gameweek’s they have Sheffield United and Everton followed by a double gameweek in 24. Not the easiest of opponents but he has the ability to make it difficult for whoever is up against him.
