This article will highlight 5 differentials (under 5% ownership) across a variety of positions to help push managers up the ranks over the coming gameweeks starting in Gameweek 26
Patrick Van Aanholt (£5.5m) – Crystal Palace – 4.3% TSB
Van Aanholt has recently returned from injury and so only played the latest 2 matches. Palace have not looked strong defensively as of late, however, the next four fixtures come against Newcastle Brighton Watford and Bournemouth. There is definitely potential for them to turn around their form in these games. As well as this, van Aanholt is one of the main attacking threats in the team for both assists and goals. This was seen as he hit the post in gameweek 26. Overall, van Aanholt may seem too expensive but he combines clean sheet potential, attacking threat with great fixtures to offer a differential with a very high ceiling.
Kyle Walker-Peters (£4.4m) – Southampton – 0.6% TSB
He has recently transferred from Spurs to Southampton which is why his price and ownership and low. In gameweek 26 he got his first start for the Saints and the right back spot seems to be his due to little competition. The next 4 fixtures for KWP are Aston Villa, West Ham, Newcastle and Norwich. These are some of the best possible fixtures and so the clean sheet potential is very high. As well as this KWP has attacking threat as he gets forward down the right to cross into the likes of Danny Ings and Shane Long.
Steven Bergwijn (£7.5m) – Tottenham – 1.8% TSB
He is a new signing for Spurs in the January window and so has only been available for 2 matches where he played both returning 12 points total. The next 3 fixtures are mixed with Chelsea Wolves and Burnley with Man U and West Ham to follow. However, with Son now out for a while with a broken arm, Bergwijn may be used as a ST in his absence. This would make him a great differential as we know from previous clubs he has an eye for goal and his pace could cause a lot of trouble for defences. Even if he isn’t at ST, on the wing he will still have to set up with more goals now Son is out.
Bruno Fernandes (£8.0m) – Manchester United – 3.0% TSB
He is a new signing for Man U joining in January and has returned 1 assist from the 2 games he has started. However, he has put in two strong performances. He enjoys taking a lot of shots and is on set pieces with both corners, where he wasn’t his assist, and free kicks where he hit the post against Chelsea. Fernandes has Watford and Everton in the next 2 followed by the Manchester Derby. Mixed fixtures but he has an appetite to be involved and so there is a high potential for returns in these upcoming fixtures.
Shane Long (£4.6m) – Southampton – 2.0% TSB
Long has now started all of the last 5 fixtures as Southampton moved to a 4-4-2 formation and opted for two strikers and Long got the nod alongside teammate Ings. He has returned 1 goal and an assist in those games against some tough opponents including Wolves and Liverpool and has looked very lively. In the next 4 he faces Aston Villa, West Ham, Newcastle and Bournemouth. These are great fixtures and as he doesn’t blank in gameweek 28 he could be a strong rotating player with a price of just £4.6m.
Thank you all for reading, see you next week, good luck in Gameweek 27.
