This article will look at 5 players selected by under 5% of fantasy premier league managers that could be strong differentials for gameweek 7 These players could be good for a one week punt to push managers up the overall rankings, whilst some should also be considered for the long run.
Felipe Anderson (£6.9m) – West Ham – 4.4% TSB
West Ham travel to Bournemouth this weekend and Anderson has returned 18 points so far this season including an assist in gameweek 6 against Manchester United. West Ham have looked strong this season and we have seen in past seasons what Anderson is capable of. Anderson has an XG of 0.56 this season and XA of 1.64 showing he has performed roughly as expected. There are limited options in midfield under £7.0m for consistent returns so Anderson could offer a strong option to help push managers up a rank.
Benjamin Chilwell (£5.4m) – Leicester City – 3.8% TSB
This weekend Leicester host Newcastle who have the lowest XG in the league with 3.96 and have the joint lowest goals scored with 4.This shows that Leicester have a strong chance of a clean sheet and Chilwell has showed strong attacking potential as well. This combined with Chilwell’s strong upcoming fixtures to show this could be a great time to look at the Leicester defender as a differential for more than just one week.
Marcus Alonso (£6.2m) – Chelsea – 2.3% TSB
With Emerson potentially injured for the upcoming weeks Alonso has the potential to return to his FPL heights we saw from him over the past few season as Chelsea host Brighton. Chelsea are yet to keep a clean sheet this season but with the likes of Kante and Rudiger looking ready to return it could be about to change especially with their upcoming fixtures of no fixture harder than 2 on the FPL including home matches against Newcastle and Palace.
Chris Wood (£6.2m) – Burnley – 0.7% TSB
Wood failed to score in the first 5 weeks seeing his ownership drop as well as his price showing he is now a really extreme differential. However, in gameweek 6 he scored twice to return 13 points to the faithful managers and will look to continue in the same light this weekend. Wood has an XG+A of 3.1 and so has room for improvements in terms of FPL points. With Burnely’s upcoming fixtures Wood could be a more than 1 week punt.
Danny Rose (£5.5m) – Tottenham – 2.5%TSB
Spurs host Southampton this weekend and whilst Spurs have looked out of sorts so far this season, their defence now have very low ownership allowing room for those looking to gain rank. Rose has started every gameweek so far for Spurs and has looked strong. With a cup match midweek he is likely to remain in the lineup at the weekend. Rose is yet to return an assist but has looked attacking putting crosses in and so the opportunity is there.
