FPL Updates XI – Gameweek 10 – FPL Tips

It was yet another low scoring gameweek but the sub 50 point score was enough for a green arrow in such a tough week. We were bailed out by the defence but had yet another captain blank. Not one goal was scored in the XI and we were down to XI men as all 4 subs didn’t start.

Heaton conceded a single goal for the second week running, which is quite annoying. Soyuncu conceded to Burnley in a 2-1 loss but apart from those two, things went well. Lundstram came off the bench for the injured Salah with a handy clean sheet against Arsenal. This man’s a monster! Rico picked up the second clean sheet of the week along with 2 bonus points. Robertson got a late assister and also picked up 2 bonus points against Man Utd. These were crucial points.

Sterling was the only man in the front 6 not to blank. Painful. He dinked a nice assist for Silva but spurned some glorious chances. KDB was denied a clear penalty and had a tap in if Jesus decided to pass to him. Mount and McGinn both blanked in easy home games.

Pukki blanked for the 4th week running and he’s on the chopping book. Captain Abraham blanked and he also had plenty of chances to score but wasn’t clinical.

Transfers: Pukki/Zinchenko (OUT) -> Maupay/Mendy

With Zinchenko out for over a month, Mendy looks a great punt with a strong bench and a wildcard still in my back pocket. Maupay’s underlying numbers have been very impressive and he’s got two tasty home games next.

Heaton travels to the Etihad but I don’t see Man City failing to score at home this week. Robertson is up against a struggling Tottenham and the Scotsman won’t be leaving the side during this tricky patch. He did pick up a knock on Tuesday, so hopefully he’s fit. Lundstram gets a start away to West Ham who haven’t found scoring goals at home easy. Both budget defenders start as Rico has Watford at Vicarage road. Watford have just scored once since GW5 and Rico has been a bonus magnet. Mendy faces Aston Villa and he’s due to pick up his first assist of the season.

Salah is fit for Spurs after missing the trip to Old Trafford. Spurs have been terrible defensively and I expect Liverpool to score well. Mount faces Burnley who haven’t conceded at home since they played Liverpool. I’ve been impressed by teammate Hudson Odoi at a much cheaper price. Sterling and KDB have a plum game at home to Aston Villa and I’m hoping they can show me why they’re still in the side. If only midweek games were like weekends as Sterling bagged a hat-trick and a brace of assists!

Abraham loses the armband after last weeks blank but he’s yet to blank on the road since gameweek 1. Maupay faces Everton who are yet to keep a clean sheet on the road since GW1 this season.

Captain: KDB. He’s got a great fixture against Villa and Sterling played 90 minutes midweek which is a worry considering he’s been played constantly recently. KDB was brought off early and when he’s started at home this season, he’s always returned a double digit haul!
