Gameweek 2 Preview – Fantasy Football Tips

Whether you’ve had a great week, poor week or indifferent, remember you picked your players for a reason! Will midfielders score more points this week? Will 5 at the back look ridiculous with barely any clean sheets?

Heres our preview, star players and predictions for gameweek 2!

Arsenal V Burnley 12.30 Saturday 17th August

Arsenal started slowly against Newcastle, but a good finish by Aubameyang sealed all 3 points. Burnley started like a house on fire as the Barnes train really got going! With Arsenals players coming back to fitness I think they’ll be stronger this week.

Star Man: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m)

I think 2 in 2 is likely.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Burnley

Aston Villa V Bournemouth 3pm Saturday 17th of August

Villa looked threatening but flimsy at the back, and Bournemouth didn’t really threaten but still managed to concede! I can see both teams throwing caution to the wind

Star Man: Callum Wilson (£8.0m)

An assist in the first gameweek, I expect him to get off the mark this week

Prediction: Aston Villa 2-2 Bournemouth

Brighton V West Ham 3pm Saturday 17th of August

Brighton were really impressive in week 1, actually getting past the half way line and someone other than Glenn Murray scored, in fact 3 players other than Glenn Murray did! West Ham had a terrible time of it against city, but their season starts now

Star Man: Neal Maupay (£6.0m)

I think we’ll see Maupay start this week and he could be a real find at £6.0m.

Prediction: Brighton 2-1 West Ham

Everton V Watford 3pm Saturday 17th of August

Neither team scored in gameweek one, with Everton looking pretty blunt upfront. Watford were poor but they are so unpredictable you can never tell if they’ll be the same again, or turn up and blow the opposition away. I’m going for the former

Star Man: Gylfi Sigurdsson (£8.0m)

Pretty unlucky to not score gameweek one, at home I think he’ll put a show on.

Prediction: Everton 2-0 Watford

Norwich V Newcastle 3pm Saturday 17th of August

The Canaries took a bit of a pounding, but their attacking prowess was there for all to see, looking threatening every time they had the ball against the best defence in the league. Newcastle on the other hand looked disorganised against a lacklustre Arsenal side and I worry they may be in serious trouble by November.

Star Man: Teemu Pukki (£6.5)

A great start for Norwich’s talisman, I expect him to run Newcastle’s centrebacks ragged

Prediction: Norwich 3-0 Newcastle

Southampton V Liverpool 3pm Saturday 17th of August

Liverpool looked good, very good in fact but they did look less than solid at the back. Southampton struggled in their first game back, and I can’t see much changing in week 2.

Star Man: Mo Salah (£12.5m)

Good start from Salah, I expect the same again this week.

Prediction: Southampton 1-3 Liverpool

Manchester City V Tottenham 5.30pm Saturday 17th of August

City as always were brilliant. Sterling was in a different league and I expect Aguero to be back. Spurs struggled against Villa for a while but Kane came up trumps for them again. Can he do it against the champs?

Star Man: Raheem Sterling (£12.0m)

On the back of a hattrick and against Kyle Walker-Peters…….

Prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Tottenham

Sheffield United V Crystal Palace 2pm Sunday 18th August

The blades rescued a late point against Bournemouth and looked solid, limiting a strong attack to few chances. Palace on the other hand looked bereft of ideas until Zaha came on, but he’s back and looks ready to prove hes worth every penny of the 70 million wanted.

Star Man: Wilfried Zaha (£7.0m)

If you can’t force a move with a transfer request, show them what they’re missing.

Prediction: Sheffield United 1-1 Crystal Palace

Chelsea V Leicester 4.30pm Sunday 18th August

Chelsea had it tough on Sunday, and on another day it could have been a very different story. Abraham and Mount looked good, but they lack the defensive qualities on Kante, and fielded a new back four. Leicester will probably take advantage of this, but with Chelsea at home you have to expect goals

Star Man: Tammy Abraham (£7.0m)

I was impressed with the young forward against Manchester United, even though he failed to score.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-2 Leicester

Wolves V Manchester United 8pm Monday 19 August

Wolves should have 3 points on the board if VAR hadn’t reared its ugly head. Man Utd looked impressive counter attacking, but that’s one of Wolves real strengths, and even though United kept a clean sheet, I’m not jumping on that bandwagon just yet as I thought they looked a bit shaky.

Star Man: Raul Jiminez (£7.5m)

Jiminez is fixture proof and I think he will get his first return against a new United defence.

Prediction: Wolves 2-0 Manchester United
