Interesting week with FPL Twitter going mad for wildcards. Have you pulled the trigger? Or are you holding your nerve?
Heres our preview, star players and predictions for gameweek 3!
Aston Villa vs Everton
Everton have been really tight at the back, but there is some concern over Lucas Digne. Villa haven’t started great, but they look dangerous going forward.
Star Man: John McGinn (5.6)
He’s started great and looks a real threat getting forward
Prediction: Aston Villa 1 – 1 Everton
Norwich vs Chelsea
Pukki, Pukki, Pukki. Can he do it again? Not sure I’d back against him! However I think Chelea are starting to get their identity together and will pose a much more serious threat than Newcastle did.
Star Man: Mason Mount (£6.0m)
Looks at home in the Number 10 position, can be instrumental in Chelsea’s first win of the season
Prediction: Norwich 1 – 3 Chelsea
Brighton vs Southampton
Brighton have started well, looking to carry a lot more of a threat this season than last. Southampton played pretty well against a tired Liverpool side, but didn’t create a huge amount
Star Man: Leoandro Trossard (£6.0m)
Scored a great ruled out volley last week as well as his neat finish on his debut. Looks a real threat.
Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Southampton
Manchester United vs Crystal Palace
United look better this year, seemingly set up to counter attack at pace which may be a problem against a poor and defensive Palace side. However I still expect them to have enough to overcome the Eagles.
Star Man: Marcus Rashford (£8.6m)
He’ll be on pens now and looks sharp.
Prediction: Manchester United 2-0 Crystal Palace
Sheffield United vs Leicester
Sheff United look solid at the back, their tactics causing issues for teams up to now, and Leicester haven’t kicked into top gear yet, but there were some promising signs in the second half versus Chelsea.
Star Man: James Maddison (£7.0m)
Even though he missed a great chance at Chelsea he was getting in good positions, and his set piece delivery is quality.
Prediction: Sheffield United 1 – 1 Leicester
Watford vs West Ham
Both teams are looking to ignite their season in this London derby. Haller may still be injured and West Ham are getting their attacking team in place and Watford have conceded 14 games in a row!
Star Man: Lanzini (£6.5m)
Lanzini has started the season in good form, could be a great shout at £6.5m.
Prediction: Watford 1 – 2 West Ham
Liverpool vs Arsenal
Liverpool were laboured against Southampton, and Arsenal looked a real threat going forward last week. I see goals.
Star Man: Mohamed Salah (£12.5m)
Mane and Firmino look in good form, but I just can’t back against Salah.
Prediction: Liverpool 4-1 Arsenal
Bournemouth vs Manchester City
City have looked amazing going forward, and were so unlucky against Spurs, and Bournemouth have looked poor going forward at the start of this season. That will change, but I can’t see it being this week (last season Bournemouth didn’t manage a shot against City at home).
Star Man: Raheem Sterling (£12.2m)
He’s on fire.
Prediction: Bournemouth 0 – 3 Manchester City
Tottenham vs Newcastle
Nothing more needs to be said than Spurs will smash my beloved Newcastle
Star Man: Harry Kane (£11.0m)
I wouldn’t be surprised if he follows in Pukki with a hatrick.
Prediction: Tottenham 5 – 0 Newcastle
Wolves vs Burnley
Wolves struggled at times against Man Utd, playing well in parts but not exactly clicking. Burnley have looked decent with the Barnes train really getting going so I think it will be a decent game.
Star Man: Raul Jiminez (£7.5m)
Jiminez was unlucky not to score with his header, he’ll be off the mark soon.
Prediction: Wolves 2-1 Burnley

Disagree with the Chelsea prediction. I think Chelsea will finish 7th this season. Norwich 3-2 Chelsea
