FPL Updates vs FFPundits – Football Fanager

So last week we started a competition with FantasyFootyPundits on the Football Fanager site, and it is fair to say that they beat us quite handsomely. One thing we didn’t utilise is the fact that you can have a different captain each day of the gameweek. This week we will be sure to use this and hope to make the competition a bit tighter! Be sure to check out both Fantasy Footy Pundits and Football Fanager, in the meantime, here is our line up for this week:

Football Fanager

Defence

So at the back we are gambling massively with a back 5 from just two teams, being Southampton and West Brom, in the form of; Davis, Bertrand, Fonte, Dawson and Lescott. With Southampton having 14 clean sheets this season already, surely they won’t have any trouble keeping one against a misfiring Hull City? Likewise with West Brom, who have been a lot more defensively structured since the arrival of Tony Pulis, as they go to face Leicester City this week.

Midfield

So this is where our captaincy plan comes into place, as Sterling will be our Monday night captain as he and Liverpool host Newcastle. We then have Hazard and Cazorla making up the other two of our three man midfield, who face QPR and Burnley this week.

Strikers

We start a three pronged attack this week being; Remy, Kane and Giroud. We start with Kane as our captain this week as on Saturday he plays against Aston Villa, and then on Sunday it is likely to be handed across to Loic Remy who faces his old team QPR. Giroud on the other hand will be left to do the job he has been doing so well of late… Scoring goals!

So now to the Pundits team:

Pundits

So here is the Pundits Football Fanager team, and this week its clear to see that they have gone with a similar tactic with 3 teams covering their back five, one being Southampton of which three of our back five are from. They have then gone with two of Chelsea’s defenders accompanied by Vorm in between the sticks. In the middle of the park they have a three consisting of; Sterling, Ramsey and Sigurdsson, of which we expect they will also be giving the captain’s armband to Sterling on the Monday night just as we are. Finally they have gone with a similar front 3, starting both Kane and Remy. The only difference here is that they have gone with Aguero, whereas we went with Giroud against Burnley! So that’s the teams – Let the games begin!
