FPL Updates XI – Gameweek 26

With the FA Cup break nearly out of the way and gameweek 26 starting this weekend, FPL Updates will be looking to rise up the ranks again after a strong gameweek 25 performance. Here is how the team looked:

FPL Updates

So 13 points above average, and rising up the leagues to 21,991 overall. To kick things off we start in goal with Tim Krul, who only managed two points which if you think thats poor, wait until you see the defence! So, lets name and shame them! Hutton, Naughton and van Aanholt managed to bring us home a massive TWO points between them! Keep that up and they will be out of the team – enough said.

In the middle of the park we saw our last minute change of giving the captain’s armband to Walcott pay off as he brought home a total of 14 points. We then saw Downing and Hazard score the standard 2 points, plus 1 for a clean sheet (3 points each). Finally our vice captain, Angel Di Maria, matched our captain’s performance and also scored 7 points.

Up top we saw a total of 22 points from both Kane and Aguero, who both had a really good gameweek 25, with Aguero scoring twice and Kane scoring and assisting one! Meanwhile Olivier Grioud started on the bench, and decided to come on and get booked, giving him a grand total of ZERO.

Hopefully this week we will see some more green arrows. We haven’t made any transfers, and here is how we line up:

So Foster starts in goal this week as he has the easier fixture on paper, and we expect to see a regular Pulis performance, and hopefully a clean sheet. For this reason in front of him we also gamble in starting Andre Wisdom. Either side of him we start Hutton and van Aanholt, who both have very good attacking statistics. Hopefully some of these statistics will start to be converted into fantasy football points, and a clean sheet or two wouldn’t go a miss.

In the middle of the park we name an unchanged starting 4, being; Downing, Walcott, Di Maria and Hazard. Downing hasn’t been performing as well of late and will be one to watch here. Walcott’s starting place isn’t yet nailed on so is somewhat risky, but when he plays he has an impact for sure so hopefully our faith will be rewarded here. Di Maria is always involved when United go forward, and he could be in for a field day facing an out of form Swansea. Finally Hazard plays at home against Burnley, and we all know what happens when hazard plays at home…

Up top we keep faith in Giroud as we think he will keep his place this week after scoring two goals in the FA Cup, and Welbeck not proving much of a contest. Alongside him we start the ever impressive Harry Kane who seems to score against anyone, with 3 goals in his last two games, which were against Liverpool and Arsenal! Finally we also keep hold of Aguero even though he is a slight doubt for the game against Newcastle. Finally, with Harry Kane being rested midweek, we fancy him to grab us a goal or two against the Hammers at White Heart Lane, so have handed him the captain’s armband for gameweek 26.
