Season Prospects – Norwich

NOR

The Canaries see their short stay in the Championship end, as they return to the Premier League for the 2015/2016 season. They will be hoping to stay up this time, and not have the hardship of returning to the Championship, undoing all their good work last year. Norwich made their way to the Premier League via the playoffs, after they beat Middlesbrough by two goals at Wembley. The immediate return to the Premier League within one season is a very impressive feat, after their relegation in the 2013/2014 campaign, but they will be hoping to stay up this season.

STAR MAN – Nathan Redmond (5.5m)

The 21 year old showed some really impressive form last season in the Championship and was crucial in Norwich City’s promotion to the Premier League. The England under 21 international, made a total of 46 appearances last season, scoring 6 goals and creating a massive 117 chances over the course of the season. Redmond also managed to keep an 80% pass accuracy over the season, which will be crucial in the up an coming season as they may not see as much of the ball as they did last in the Championship.

This will be Redmond’s second appearance in the Premier League after featuring in Norwich City’s squad during the 2013/2014 and he will be keen to ensure that this time they stay up and become a regular force in the Premier League.

HIDDEN GEM – John Ruddy (4.5m)

Last season, Ruddy made a total of 50 appearances for the Canaries, which was the highest out of the whole squad, with Russell Martin one appearance behind. John Ruddy who does have one cap for England, was a regular in the Premier League after leaving Everton for Norwich back in 2010, but after last season in the Championship, he now he finds himself back where he belongs. During the 2014/2015 Championship campaign, Ruddy managed a total of 15 clean sheets over the course of the season and managed to only concede an average of just over one goal a game. If Norwich are to stay up this season, John Ruddy will be in the thick of things, as they will be facing teams of a higher class than that of the Championship, with Ruddy likely to be in the firing range.
