Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 36 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

We are now left with just 3 gameweeks of the season and time is running out to top those FPL mini leagues. Captaincy picks are therefore even more crucial in these gameweeks and this captaincy analysis will try to highlight some of the favoured picks for that armband.

Before we look at this week’s captaincy picks, here’s how last week’s captaincy analysis did:

1. Sergio Aguero – 12 points
2. Christian Benteke – 1 point
3. Josh King – 10 points
Differential – Manolo Gabbiadini – 1 point
Gamble – Romelu Lukaku – 2 points

So it was a somewhat disappointing show from the lads, but lets now look at this week’s picks:

1. Alexis Sanchez (MUN & SOU)

As the season is nearly over, it means that DGW’s start appearing thick and fast. Only Arsenal and Southampton have the luxury of playing two games this gameweek, and that means that there’s double the chance of Sanchez scoring big. They play Man United and Southampton, and providing that Bailly could be out due to an injury, it could mean that United are forced into youth for their defence, meaning that it could make it easier for Sanchez to get on the scoresheet against the Red Devils. Despite his poor league form, he still managed to score in the FA Cup semi final, so I can see him getting at least one goal this week.

2. Eden Hazard (MID)

In my opinion, Hazard is one of, if not, the best player in the league, and despite being man marked, very well I must admit by Gueye for 90 minutes, he still managed to get an assist from their 3-0 win, and Boro don’t have that quality in the defence or midfield to man mark Hazard out of the game. With only 1 blank in 10 GW’s, I can see Hazard extending that run this week.

3. Harry Kane (WHU)

With 2 goals and 2 assists in his last 3 games, Kane has been in fantastic form and looks set to increase that record with an away game to West Ham this week, a team that Kane loves to play against as he has 5 goals in his last 4 games against the Hammers. Considering that Spurs see this as a must win game, Kane will be fired up for this and surely has to get himself on the scoresheet this week. Anything but a win all but confirms that Chelsea win the league, so Kane will have to be on fire if they have a chance of winning the league.

Differential – Gabriel Jesus (CRY)

Jesus has only played 290 minutes this season, however he has been involved in 5 games in that time, meaning that he averages a return every 57 minutes, a remarkable statistic for someone so young and new to the Premier League. He is only owned by 3.2% of FPL managers, which is a massive differential and if he does well, it could result in you making a final push for a specific milestone, especially with the season so close to ending. He was also unlucky not to score again in the derby so he is definitely one to consider, especially if you have a low rank!

Gamble – Manolo Gabbiadini (LIV & SOU)

Another player with a good points per game ratio is Gabbiadini, who has averaged a return every 90.2 minutes, which is good for someone who was out for a lengthy injury. The Saints do have a DGW this week, however they have been in poor form as of late, as this must be considered if you do opt for captaining Gabbiadini. However, as his ownership is low (7.4%), it could boost your rankings a lot if he does do well this week!
