Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 38 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

After what was a huge set of Premier League fixtures, we look onto this weekend as the final Fantasy Premier League gameweek. Gameweek 38 see’s all the teams play at 3pm and unfortunately marks the summer break in the Premier League football. With that said, mini leagues can be won and lost in this gameweek, so it is important to get the final captaincy pick right!

Before we look at this weeks captaincy selections, here’s how last weeks Captaincy Analysis did:

1. Gabriel Jesus – 19 points
2. Eden Hazard – 5 points
3. Alexis Sanchez – 54 points
Differential – Romelu Lukaku – 2 points
Gamble – Harry Kane – 31 points

Now onto this weeks captaincy picks:

1. Harry Kane (HUL)

Do you really need me to say this? If you live under a cave and didn’t watch the Spurs game on Thursday, Kane managed to come from 2 goals behind Romelu Lukaku to 2 goals ahead, as he managed to score 4 goals in one game! The English forward has pretty much nailed his position as top scorer, but just in case he fancied more goals, Spurs play Hull, a team already relegated and Kane could manage to get into the 30’s if he managed to recreate his Thursday performance!

2. Philippe Coutinho (MID)

Coutinho has been fantastic recently, scoring 7 goals in 8 games, assisting twice in that time. He played in a deeper role last week against the Hammers, which allowed him to have more time and space on the ball. This is possibly why he managed to score two and assist one on Tuesday. With Liverpool needing a win on Saturday against Boro, Coutinho needs to be at his best and he might be able to get on the scoresheet again, sending Liverpool back to the Champions League!

3. Alexis Sanchez (EVE)

It boils down to the last game as to who will get the Golden Boot, either himself, Lukaku or Kane could get the prize. With Lukaku ahead by one, Sanchez will need to be on his A game if he wants to secure the prize and with Arsenal needing a win to secure Champions League football, Sanchez could potentially put on a show against Everton. There are rumours Everton may play poorly against the Gunners in an attempt to stop Liverpool getting the Champions League spot, which could mean that Alexis Sanchez may get a few more chances on Saturday. With 4 goals and 1 assist in his last 3 games, Sanchez definitely needs to be considered for that armband.

Differential – Gabriel Jesus (WAT)

Not so much a differential anymore, but it’s the last gameweek and if you’re desperate to catch up to a mini league rival, then Jesus may be your man. With 3 goals and 2 assists in his last 3 fixtures, he definitely should be considered for the captaincy. With an away game against Watford (a team who conceded 4 to Chelsea), Jesus may be able to find himself on the score sheet this gameweek!

Gamble – Romelu Lukaku (ARS)

Lukaku? A gamble? Well, there’s a view that Lukaku feels that his work at Everton is done, as he hasn’t exactly been playing to his full potential over the past few gameweeks. It is possible that Lukaku will not be playing for Everton next season, but the one thing Lukaku cares about is Lukaku. That was read right! He only cares about himself and if he doesn’t win the golden boot, it would be considered a failure for him, especially considering how many games Kane was out for. If he wants the Golden Boot, he may go all out on Sunday and with Koeman having a good record against Arsenal, Lukaku may be able to get on the scoresheet. That being said, with Arsenal desperate for Champions League football, its hard to look past anything other than a Gunners win.

Good luck and thank you for reading our articles all season!
