Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 4 FPL Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

The international break is nearly over and fantasy Premier League will resume this weekend. With that being said, many fantasy managers are scrambling to pull their teams together and most importantly, trying to choose who to gave the captain’s armband to. Hopefully this captaincy analysis will help with the decision, but before we look at this week’s picks, here is how last week’s FPL captaincy analysis did:

1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 2 points
2. Diego Costa – 5 points
3. Sergio Aguero – 2 points
Differential – Nathan Redmond – 1 point
Gamble – Cristian Benteke – 2 points

So, the big hitters failed to score big points, however onwards and upwards! With that said, here is our captaincy analysis and picks for this week:

1. Eden Hazard (SWA)

Hazard definitely looks like he is starting to get back into his 2013/14 points, as he’s already scored 25 points by GW4. He has the most points on FPL, so you certainly should be considering him for captaincy this week! Chelsea take on Swansea this week, so surely he should be on that scoresheet come Sunday! He’ll be a popular choice, so I’d highly recommend him to those with high ranks; don’t be taking too many risks!

2. Alexis Sanchez (SOU)

Despite the break, Sanchez has a very good record of returning from international duty, scoring 2 goals in 2 games. Before the break, he scored 16 points when Ozil returned from injury which just shows how good his partnership is with the German. Arsenal play Southampton this week, who have struggled at the back, keeping just one clean sheet in 16 games! Chances are, Sanchez will get a good points return, but with him probably playing on the wing, he might get less chances than in GW3.

3. Alvaro Negredo (CRY)

Bit of a surprise one, but definitely one that should be considered. He blanked in GW3 to West Brom, but this week Boro take on Crystal Palace. Palace haven’t got off to a great start, and considering his decent form, I have a feeling he might get on the scoresheet against Palace. Negredo was hailed as the ‘star’ man in the last few games according to the experts, who also tip him to do well against Palace. Will he be the big surprise?

Our number 3 picks this season have returned 8+ points every time, maybe it’s a lucky number? Will it work again?

Differential – Romelu Lukaku (SUN)

As an Everton fan, I’ll admit, he’s been poor in the last few weeks. With Baines missing his penalty, Everton may have a new spot kick taker; Lukaku may be the man to step up, missing only one penalty in his career. He scored twice for Belgium on Tuesday, and looked very sharp in the match. He looked like the player from 2015, that we all miss, especially us Everton fans! If he does well, you’ll climb thousands in the rankings! However, I wouldn’t recommend to those with a very good rank; GW4 definitely isn’t the time to make risks. Definitely consider him if you’re looking to catch up!

Gamble – Zlatan Ibrahimovic (MCI)

You’re thinking I’m crazy for putting Ibra as a gamble, but I don’t see him bagging one in the derby. Man City have strengthened with a new, top class goalkeeper, but as a certain man always says, Man City leak goals. Will they do so with the introduction of Bravo? I’m not sure. That’s why Ibra is a gamble; we need to see what Bravo is like, the defence is in front of him etc. but, definitely consider him if you love a gamble!
