To be honest, I’d have been quite disappointed not to smash the average score last time around. Given that this team allows me to make wholesale changes each, I could simply cherry pick the players I thought were best last time out. Hopefully, you had a couple of these in your lineup for the short game week.
It was at the back where my biggest success stories were – with Robertson’s assist and clean sheet making him a worthy captain choice. PVA also bagged a cleanie against Huddersfield, while Daniels conceded but he too got an assist.
In midfield Stanislas scored double figures and Walcott registered his first attacking return in five games. Up front, his team mate Tosun notched twice, though I was left to regret switching King out for Wilson – the former scoring and the latter disappointing with a blank.
Back to normal this week, with a full fixture list and bank of players to pick from. Changes galore for the side that means, and hopefully one or two of these might be able to help your side out this weekend.
Goalkeepers
It is ages since Arsenal’s last league game but in it, you may remember Cech (4.4%) finally saved his first penalty for the club, batting away Deeney’s spot kick. With Stoke this weekend’s visitors to the Emirates, he could very feasibly keep a second straight clean sheet. The Potters have lost all nine of their Premier League games in N5, and that trend may continue this week. As backup I’ve gone for Dubravka (0.4%) at home to Huddersfield, as he didn’t let me down when he was in the team a few weeks back.
Defenders
At the back Robertson (7.7%) remains because I love him at the moment and I can’t understand how his ownership still sits under 10% – he’s arguably the most in form left back in the division right now. He is joined in the lineup by Mustafi (3.5%), who’s in on the same reasons as Cech, and Bailly (5.8%), who faces a home game with Swansea on Saturday. On the bench I’ve picked his teammate Lindelof (1.2%), though I’m a little unsure of the injury statuses of others and whether he’ll play. If he does, I expect him and Big Eric to bring home clean sheet points for me. Lastly on the bench is Ward (7.2%), who is up against West Brom away. Despite Burnley being only one of three sides the Baggies have beaten this term, Sean Dyche’s side have won at harder places this season and I can see them getting revenge and inflicting more misery on Alan Pardew’s men.
Midfielders
The four in midfield this week includes Stanislas (2.0%), who I’m carrying over based on the three goals he’s scored in his last five. Watford away should not bother him too much, and I can see him continuing his good form this weekend. Alongside him there’s a spot for Kenedy (1.6%), who really impressed for Newcastle in their last home game with Southampton. This week he faces a Huddersfield side who look largely as if the wheels have fallen off after a really encouraging start to Premier League life. Ramsey (3.7%) is back to fitness and back in this team for the Stoke game – one against a team he enjoys scoring against at home. Albrighton (3.2%) is also in the team with Leicester travelling down for a tricky game with Brighton. On the bench, Bernardo Silva (1.7%) is back in this team, with City going to Everton knowing a win will likely see them be able to clinch the title in next weekend’s Manchester Derby.
Strikers
With that in mind and Aguero injured, I’m plumping for the return of Jesus (6.7%), which feels fitting given that it’s Easter weekend. He’ll play vice captain to Rashford (6.7%), who marked his last league game with a brace in the 2-1 win over Liverpool. United have since gone out of the Champions League in disappointing circumstances, but I fully expect them to have enough to ease past Swansea on their own patch. My third striker this week is Wood (1.25), who has three in two, including a double off the bench to down West Ham a few weeks back. He’s surely done enough to merit a start, and facing off against the worst side in the division is handy.Good luck this weekend.
