Dominic Solanke – Fantasy Football Potential

Liverpool have completed the signing of 19 year old Striker Dominic Solanke for a fee of £3 million from rivals Chelsea after his contract had ended with the champions.

Dominic Solanke had this to say about switching to Anfield:

“It feels amazing and everyone has made me feel welcome already.”

“Even just pulling on the training top, I was over the moon. Hopefully I can put on the shirt in the near future and make some history here.”

Fantasy Premier League Potential

Solanke is a highly rated Englishman who spent the 2016/17 season on loan from Chelsea to Vitesse, their affiliate club. The young striker made 25 appearances starting 21 times and playing 1,813 minutes of football in total.

In those 25 appearances Solanke managed to score 7 goals and gained 1 assist. The switch seemed to come at a shock from both sets of fans as he clearly has immense potential. Already making an appearance for Liverpool in their friendly against Tranmere Rovers he managed to pick up 44 minutes under his belt.

It’ll be interesting to see where he fits in the squad or if he is one for the future with solid competition coming from Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and out of place Danny Ings. This summer, Klopp may look to offload either Sturridge or Ings to give Solanke a rotation role in the club.

That said, priced at 5.0m on Fantasy Premier League I’d advise managers to keep a good eye on Liverpool’s pre-season games to see whether he features much before placing him in your squads.

Liverpool’s opening fixtures are as followes: Watford (A), Crystal Palace (H), Arsenal (H), Man City (A) and Burnley (H).
