Fantasy Football Potential – Kieran Gibbs

West Bromwich Albion have signed Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs for a fee believed to be around £7 million. The England international joins the Baggies due to a lack of game time at Arsenal, somewhat down to the acquisition of Sead Kolisinac this summer.

The left back played just over 700 minutes of Premier League football last campaign, but is entering his 10th season in England’s top flight. Kieran Gibbs is one of many signings made by Tony Pulis this summer and joins up with three other English internationals, including recent signing Gareth Barry at the Hawthorns.

West Bromwich Albion Chairman John Williams says;

“I’m delighted to welcome Kieran to the Club. We have recruited another quality addition, an England player with bags of experience at Premier League and Champions League level. We are confident he will do well for us.”

Fantasy Football Potential

Kieran Gibbs is priced at 5.0m on FPL, which makes him priced equally to fellow full back Alan Nyom, but slightly more expensive than highly owned Ahmed Hegazi. He will more than likely replace Chris Brunt at left back, which may push the Northern Irishman up into midfield.

For his £7 million price tag, I fully expect Pulis to select Gibbs in his strongest starting eleven and if he can get a good run of games for West Brom then his FPL ownership could rise from just 0.2% if they can continue keeping clean sheets.

West Brom’s next five fixtures are as follows: Brighton (A), West Ham (H), Arsenal (A), Watford (H) and Leicester (A). The favourable fixtures continue to come for the Baggies, which could lead to a good start, in terms of FPL, for Kieran Gibbs.
