Fantasy Football Potential – Richarlison

Watford have completed the signing of highly rated Brazilian youngster Richarlison from Brazilian side Fluminese. The fee for the striker is believed to be around £11 million and he has signed a five year contract at Vicarage Road. In his time at Fluminese he managed to find the back of the net on 19 occasions in 67 appearances.

The 20 year old can play anywhere across the from three, but mainly plays as a centre forward. Richarlison has played an impressive 10 times for the Brazil U20 squad, which includes Manchester City new signing Douglas Luiz and Liverpool U23 midfielder Allan. He has scored a respectable 3 goals in those 10 games.

Fantasy Football Potential

Surprisingly, Richarlison has been added in to FPL as a midfielder which could make him a more viable option considering how far forward he may be playing. He is priced at 6.0m which could in time turn out to be a bargain, depending on how good Richarlison and Watford do this season.

Richarlison is a player I wouldn’t risk for the first few gameweeks considering he is new to the Premier League and will be needing time to adapt. He may not even start for the first few games due to the likes of Andre Gray who has also recently arrived.

Watford’s opening fixtures are as follows; Liverpool (H), Bournemouth (A), Brighton (H), Southampton (A) and Manchester City (H). These fixtures will be difficult for the Hornets as all the new players will be needed to be given time to gel with each other.
