FPL Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 24 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 23 saw a mixed bag for the FPL Captaincy Analysis and with gameweek 23 on the horizon, we shall look at this weekend’s captaincy picks, but as always, here’s how last week’s picks did:

1.  Romelu Lukaku – 5 points
2. Harry Kane – 13 points
3. Eden Hazard – 1 point
Differential – Riyad Mahrez – 3 points
Gamble – Mohamed Salah – 11 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Mohamed Salah (SWA)

Now that there are no doubts about Salah’s fitness, Salah has to be the number one pick for captaincy this week. The only way now to benefit from Salah’s points is to captain him, because owning him simply does nothing to your rank anymore due to his 55% ownership! This week, Liverpool, who just took out the “Invincibles” in Man City, take on a defensively struggling Swansea, and in the reverse fixture, Liverpool romped home to a 5-0 win. Can that be repeated?

2. Sergio Aguero (NEW)

As Gabriel Jesus is out injured, it means that Aguero is almost certainly starting every game, and with City scoring for fun this season, you’ll probably need Aguero as your frontman. This week, City take on Newcastle, another team struggling at the back, and City will be desperate to try and put things right after their slip up to Liverpool. Aguero has scored 13 goals this season, so can he improve that tally?

3. Harry Kane (SOU)

After two blanks, Kane came back with a bang as he scored two goals against Everton, taking his tally up to 20 goals for the season despite only playing 21 games! Like Salah, his points no longer have any meaning as he’s owned by 48% of managers, but considering he scored a hat-trick against Southampton only a few weeks ago, he could be a decent captaincy option for this week! In his 21 games, he’s scored a brace or more in 8 of those games, averaging a brace/hat-trick every 2.5 games which is a fantastic record!

Differential – Marko Arnautovic (BOU)

If you’ve been in a coma and woke up a few weeks ago, you’d have thought Arnie had been scoring week in, week out. However, he literally did nothing until Moyes took over as West Ham manager! Since then, he’s been playing a more advanced role and has developed a fantastic relationship with Manuel Lanzini, scoring 6 and assisting 3 times in just 9 weeks of “Moyes Football”. He’s still only owned by 10% too, and considering how good he’s been, he could well be a good captaincy choice as West Ham play Bournemouth, who conceded 3 to Wigan in the midweek FA cup match.

Gamble – Eden Hazard (BHA)

I think every man and his dog is sick and tired of Morata and Hazard. Every week we hope, every week we fail. In the last 8 weeks, Hazard has only scored 1 goal and assisted another, yet an away game to Brighton looks tempting. I personally wouldn’t advise it, unless you’re insane and desperate to climb the rankings, because considering his form, it may not be worth it! However, as the old saying goes, he who dares, wins!
