Gameweek 33 FPL Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 33, the first of half a dozen gameweeks remaining. With just six more gameweeks to go & a couple of double gameweeks around the corner, this week will be crucial in prepping the home straight and pondering on how those handy chips you’ve saved might come in to play.

Good luck & may your arrows be green!

Everton vs Liverpool

What a cracker of a contest we have here with both teams going into this fixture looking for nothing less than a win against their cross city rivals. Liverpool have been on top gear this season, as a result of which they find themselves in the Champions League spots. Everton on the other hand haven’t had the best of results lately but they will surely need to be on top of their game in this one if they are to snatch any points away from Klopp’s side.

STAR MAN: Mohamed Salah (10.7m)

Could we have gone for anyone else?

PREDICTION: Everton 1-3 Liverpool

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace

The Eagles are on a horrid run of form having won just 1 of their last 9 league games. As a result of this recent run, they find themselves just 1 spot above the relegation scrap. Bournemouth on the contrary are just a win away from the golden 40 point mark, and will surely be looking to reach the summit in this one with the home crowd behind them.

STAR MAN: Wilfried Zaha (6.8m)

His pace & ability to run behind defences could be something that could trouble the Cherries’ back 4.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 1-1 Crystal Palace

Brighton vs Huddersfield

Huddersfield began the season with a lot of grit and vigour but have faded since then and have defended quite poorly. Brighton are in a phase of bad form too, having won just one game in their last four, and they will be looking to turn the tables against a poor Huddersfield side. Home advantage will be key and might just give the Seagulls the upper hand in this fixture.

STAR MAN: Pascal Gross (6.0m)

The German could be the key to break the deadlock in this one.

PREDICTION: Brighton 1-0 Huddersfield

Leicester City vs Newcastle United

The Magpies seem determined to stay in the league and their 6 points from the last 2 games has been key to pulling them away from that tight relegation scrap. Leicester have also won their last 2 fixtures and will be setting their sights on a place or 2 above them. We expect this fixture to deliver goals.

STAR MAN: Jamie Vardy (8.9m)

Vardy’s Party…!?

PREDICTION: Leicester 3-2 Newcastle

Stoke vs Tottenham

Spurs are still in contention for 2nd place and they will need to dominate this Potters side at the Bet 365 Stadium if Pochettino’s men are to rise further up the table. Stoke are on a dreadful run of form and need to pull something out of the bag to kick start their revival this season.

STAR MAN: Heung-Min Son (8.3m)

4 goals & an assist in the last 3 games. You know what to do!

PREDICTION: Stoke 0-2 Tottenham

Watford vs Burnley

Watford have suffered a downward turn in form and haven’t won any of their last three games, but are now just 3 points off the 40 point mark and have been positive recently at home with 3 wins and a draw from their last 4. Burnley have been on a winning streak having won their last three games and go into this one with full confidence. Should make for an interesting match this.

STAR MAN: Abdoulaye Doucouré (5.5m)

He should be able to find spaces in that Burnley midfield and may be able to push forward to support the attack.

PREDICTION: Watford 1-1 Burnley

West Brom vs Swansea

West Brom are rock bottom and have nothing to play for but pride right now. The Baggies find themselves managerless and through the relegation trap door. On the other hand, we’ve got a Swansea side who are still in the fight for survival and a game like this is a must win for them.

STAR MAN: Andre Ayew (6.8m)

He will be the main man in the absence of his brother Jordan.

PREDICTION: West Brom 1-2 Swansea

Manchester City vs Manchester United

The big game of the week is the Manchester derby which might actually see the Citizens being crowned champions at home against their arch rivals. City will want to guarantee that title in style but will have an eye on that crucial second leg in the Champions League against Liverpool on Tuesday. The Red Devils might have a tough time at the Etihad.

STAR MAN: Gabriel Jesus (10.0m)

Scored in his last game as well and will be full of confidence to lead his team to the title.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 2-0 Manchester United

Arsenal vs Southampton

Another home game for the Gunners following their quarter final clash in the Europa League. We may see Wenger rest a few players but this certainly seems like a home game against a struggling Saints team which the Gunners should easily win.

STAR MAN: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (10.8m)

The Gabon international has been great ever since he came to the Emirates and will be looking to continue this form until the end of the season.

PREDICTION: Arsenal 3-0 Southampton

Chelsea vs West Ham

The Blues are on the back of a home loss to their London rivals Spurs and are now 8 points from the fourth place and Champions League football next season. West Ham pulled out a great result last time out but will know they’ll have their work cut out this weekend.

STAR MAN: Alvaro Morata (10.4m)

The Spaniard certainly has a point to prove after receiving heaps of criticism in the past few months. A consecutive goal return might do him some favours.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 3-0 West Ham
