Gameweek 8 FPL Preview – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 8 beckons after a lengthy international break. So, have you all made the necessary changes to your squads yet? Here’s how we predict the gameweek to pan out.

Liverpool vs Manchester United

Gameweek 8 starts with a bang as 2 of undoubtedly the biggest clubs in England go head to head at Anfield. This fixture is to be a big test for Klopp’s defence, who have already conceded 12 this season, as they sit 7th in the league table. United are flying high, averaging 3 goals each game and have 6 clean sheets from their opening 7. An away win seems to be on the cards.

STAR MAN: Romelu Lukaku (11.8m)

The big Belgian will be all set to bully the Liverpool defence and to increase his tally of 7 goals in the last 7 league games.

PREDICTION: Liverpool 0-2 Manchester United

Burnley vs West Ham

The Clarets have had a flying start to the season as they sit in a high 6th position in the Premier League table. The Hammers on the other hand are still trying to recover from their torrid start after just edging a win against the Swans last time out. Dyche’s boys are unbeaten in their last 5, and with the home crowd behind them, I don’t see this fact changing.

STAR MAN: Nick Pope (4.5m)

19 points in the last 3 games, all courtesy to his 14 saves & 2 clean sheets in the same time span. The young shot-stopper is yet again bound to have a busy day in between the sticks.

PREDICTION: Burnley 1-0 West Ham

Crystal Palace vs Chelsea

Words can’t describe how miserable the Eagles have been this season. They haven’t scored a single goal in the opening 7 games, let alone win a fixture. Chelsea on the other hand sit 4th on the league table and are on the back of a few convincing performances. We are banking on a Chelsea win.

STAR MAN: Michy Batshuayi (8.1m)

It’s time for the Batman to deliver in the absence of Morata.

PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 0-2 Chelsea

Manchester City vs Stoke

The league leaders are scoring for fun with 17 GOALS in their last 4 league games & this week, they come up against a side who don’t seem to pose a major threat. Another goal fest at the Etihad?

STAR MAN: David Silva (8.3m)

The Spaniard already has 6 assists to his name this season. Can’t see him not delivering.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 4-0 Stoke

Tottenham vs Bournemouth

Spurs have been completely ruthless of late; they have been doing it their way and as a result, they comfortably sit 3rd on the table. The Cherries on the other hand are winless in their last 2, and will be willing to turn things around as the North London club haven;t been at their very best at Wembley.

STAR MAN: Harry Kane (12.7m)

Kane-less is Brainless. Get him in!

PREDICTION: Tottenham 3-1 Bournemouth

Swansea vs Huddersfield

The Swans have been winless in their last four games in the Premier League and hence find themselves placed 18th in the table as of now. On the other hand, Huddersfield have been winless in their last five games as well. The international break might have come at the right time for both of these teams and they will now be looking to get back to winning ways.

STAR MAN: Jordan Ayew (5.0m)

He has been quiet so far this season but is definitely a bargain at this price for a player who starts all games.

PREDICTION: Swansea 2-1 Huddersfield

Watford vs Arsenal

Watford have played decently so far this season and find themselves in the top half of the table, just a point behind the Gunners, who had a bad start to the season but have now been able to recover with a four game unbeaten run and all the momentum in their favour. Certainly seems like Wenger’s men will have the upper hand going into this game.

STAR MAN: Alexis Sanchez (11.9m)

The Chilean is still finding his feet in the league after an injury ridden start to the campaign this season and will surely be looking to open his goalscoring tally this time around.

PREDICTION: Watford 0-2 Arsenal

Brighton vs Everton

Brighton have been quite unpredictable thus far this season and we really don’t know when they might turn up on the pitch. Everton on the other hand are just two points above the drop zone and they certainly didn’t expect to be in that position with the big names their squad possesses. Things have to change quickly for the Toffees or else they might be looking at an early goodbye to the European places.

STAR MAN: Wayne Rooney (7.4m)

The talisman in the Everton team will surely be looking to step up to the occasion for his side and lift the spirits of the team.

PREDICTION: Brighton 1-3 Everton

Southampton vs Newcastle

Both these teams have not won any of their previous two fixtures but the men from Tyneside certainly have defended well, having conceded just the six goals so far compared to the eleven shipped in by the Saints defence. The defence might play a crucial factor in this game where both teams do not have such a formidable attack.

STAR MAN: Ciaran Clark (4.5m)

In this game, the defenders will certainly be playing a crucial role and his presence certainly boosts the capabilities in defence for Newcastle.

PREDICTION: Southampton 0-0 Newcastle

Leicester vs West Brom

The Foxes have made yet another disappointing start to the season, having won just one game so far. They have, however, scored nine goals which certainly goes down as a plus point. West Brom having made a decent start to the season have just dropped off the pace a little, having won none of their last five Premier League fixtures. An away game at the King Power certainly doesn’t look like the perfect destination to get back in form. The Foxes certainly have the upper hand in this fixture.

STAR MAN: Jamie Vardy (8.6m)

Out of the nine goals scored by the Foxes, five of them have come from this man who will be looking to continue his form after the break.

PREDICTION: Leicester City 1-1 West Brom
