Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 10 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Gameweek 9 was a tough week for many Fantasy Premier League managers and this was reflected in the points scored by the top captaincy picks for the gameweek. That said, many will look to bounce back in gameweek 10, but before we look at this week’s captaincy analysis, here’s how last week’s selections performed:

1. Sergio Aguero – 6 points
2. Gylfi Sigurdssson – 3 points
3. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 12 points
Differential – Joshua King – 2 points
Gamble – Eden Hazard – 1 point

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Eden Hazard (BUR)

A surprising blank for Hazard last week against Man United but it was only his second of the season, which is still a terrific record. He’s been complaining of a back injury as of late, but we assume he will be back in action when Chelsea take on Burnley this weekend, who conceded 5 last weekend to Man City. If Hazard is fit, then he is definitely the main man to captain considering his form this season. He’s already produced 7 goals and 3 assists!

2. Mohamed Salah (CAR)

Million dollar question; is Salah back? In my opinion, no, or not yet anyway, because I haven’t been impressed with him in the games I’ve watched. That being said, he’s still scoring, which is the most important part! With 3 goals in his last 2 games, and a home game to Cardiff his next task, you have to say that while he still might not be in his 17/18 form, he’d still be a decent option for captaincy, especially if Hazard’s injury gets worse than first thought.

3. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (CRY)

He was benched last week which must have caused a little bit of trouble for his owners, but they were then rewarded with two goals and three bonus when he netted twice in under 10 minutes, in what I must admit, was a phenomenal second half performance by Arsenal. Emery really does have them playing truly majestic football as of late, winning ten in a row, and that form doesn’t look like ending soon as Aubameyang takes on a Crystal Palace side struggling this season, coming into the game after a 2-0 loss to Everton. With 4 goals in his last 2 games, can Aubameyang extend his goal tally?

Differential – Kevin De Bruyne (TOT)

Whisper it quietly but a) De Bruyne is back, and B) He’s only owned by 4% of FPL managers. The best player in the league is currently less than 10m and a huge differential, because chances are, he’ll start in the game against Tottenham. Man City seem to score 4 or more in every game they play this season, and that was without their main man! With KDB back, that can only mean two things; goals and assists. 14 goals and 40 assists in two seasons he’s got so you’d be a mad man if you don’t consider him for this week, especially after Spurs conceded 2 to PSV this week!

Gamble – Callum Wilson (FUL)

A rare blank for all of the Bournemouth attackers last week, but I doubt there will be a back-to-back blank as they take on a side with no clean sheets all season in Fulham. He’s a gamble because I can never rely on a specific Cherry man to give me points, as they are really hard to predict, a bit like Man City! Wilson is often playing the full 90 minutes now so I’ve opted for him but be warned, the goals could fall to Fraser, King or Brooks as well, so it is a huge gamble!
