Captaincy Analysis – FPL Gameweek 3 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Fantasy Premier League is back in the swing of things and before we know it, we are looking at gameweek 3! Before we look at this week’s Captaincy Analysis, here’s how last week’s picks did:

1. Sergio Aguero – 20 points
2. Mohamed Salah – 9 points
3. Richarlison – 9 points
Differential – Aleksander Mitrovic – 6 points
Gamble – Harry Kane – 7 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Sergio Aguero (WOL)

Always seems to be a problem nowadays Aguero, mainly due to the fact that you have no idea what Pep is going to do from one week to the next, and after his hat-trick at the weekend, I still can’t guarantee him starting due to Pep’s tactics. He’s a man that leaves us FPL managers guessing! After a 20 point haul against Huddersfield, and proving to everyone that he isn’t missing KDB at all, an away match to Wolves is his next task. If I’m being honest, Wolves have struggled to adapt to Premier League life so far. They were defensively poor against Everton and even worse against Leicester, and surely a side like Man City will be able to punish them even more than the previous two teams. If Aguero starts, and continues his scintillating form, then it’s a no brainer.

2. Richarlison (BOU)

Skip back a month and everyone believed that he was the worst signing of the summer, but him and Marco Silva have a special relationship, allowing Richarlison to perform literally to the best of his abilities, something we missed for half of last season! He’s the joint top scorer with 3 goals now after only two games, and an away game to Bournemouth is the next challenge for him. He’s a constant threat for Everton and seems to make something out of nothing every single time, and considering his form, I’d definitely recommend considering him for this week!

3. Mohamed Salah (BHA)

It wasn’t one of his best games, but wow, if that’s him on a bad day, then imagine a ‘good day’ for him. 2 assists and a constant nuisance to the Crystal Palace back line, he’s only proving to everyone that he is taking last season’s form into the new campaign. This week, Liverpool take on Brighton at home. Not the easiest fixture which is proven by the way they beat Man United, but certainly not the most difficult game, especially at Anfield. Salah’s high ownership will come into play, so keep in mind that 50% of FPL managers who own him will likely captain him, so that’s a word of caution for those who want to hold their high ranking!

Differential – Troy Deeney (CRY)

I think that this is a first; Deeney in the captaincy article! Before you label me insane, there’s actually a reason behind it. Chances are, Deeney will always be starting for Watford, so there’s very little chance of rotation this early in the season. Secondly, Watford have gone under the radar as no one has mentioned that they have won both their first two matches, and with a home game to Palace up next, they will definitely fancy their chances of making that three in three matches. It is a huge gamble but only 2% of FPL managers own Deeney, so it may prove to be a huge differential if he does as well as last week, which saw him score and assist against Burnley away from home.

Gamble – Harry Kane (MUN)

Harry Kane, a gamble? Partially, not because we are still in August, although he broke the curse of August with a goal against Fulham last week anyway. It’s more to do with the fact that Spurs take on Man United away from home this Monday, which will be a difficult task for Kane and Spurs. Although United lost last week to Brighton, they’ll be eager to get back to winning ways and United seem to be a completely different side when they play away from Old Trafford. It’ll be tough for Kane, but can he add to his goal tally?

Thanks for reading and good luck this week!
