Fantasy Premier League Preview – Gameweek 35 – FPL Tips

Gameweek 35 is here and we have yet another double gameweek and it has been a difficult phase for the managers seeing the unpredictability of this league with no clue as to who might perform how in certain circumstances. Hope this article helps you chose well and may your arrows be green.

Manchester City vs Tottenham

All eyes will be on Etihad Stadium when Manchester City and Tottenham face each other in the replay of the Champions League quarter-finals. The Citizens recorded a routine 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend, with the team moving one step closer to defending their trophy. However, Pep Guardiola’s men will have to be at their sharpest in the season finale if they are to give fans yet another reason for celebration.Spurs, on the other hand, faced no difficulties in a 4-0 victory over Huddersfield Town, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Saturday’s football match against the star-studded Citizens. Tottenham key attacker Harry Kane misses the game with injury and we are positive that he is going to be sorely missed in the Etihad Stadium clash. Given the importance of the match for Man City, home win should be considered.

STAR MAN: Sergio Aguero (11.7m)

Was lively all across the midweek Champions League fixture. Should deliver the points this time around.

PREDICTION: Manchester City 3-2 Tottenham

Bournemouth vs Fulham

Against all odds, Fulham defeated Everton 2-0 on Matchday 34, but that is not going to help them avoid relegation to the Championship. The Cottagers’ pride will be once again at stake on Saturday afternoon when they take on Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium, but beating the Cherries on the road is easier said than done. A man to watch in the away team will be Ryan Babel, who produced a fine performance in the 2-0 victory over Everton.Bournemouth, on the other hand, proved their worth in a stunning 5-0 win at Brighton and they must be high on confidence ahead of the visit of Scott Parker’s troops. Over the years the Cherries have turned their Vitality Stadium into a real fortress and seeing that Fulham are not regarded as good travelers, home win should be considered. In the first half of the season the Cherries outclassed the Cottagers 3-0 at Craven Cottage.

STAR MAN: Callum Wilson (6.7m)

Should enjoy his afternoon against a shaky Fulham side.

PREDICTION: Bournemouth 2-0 Fulham

Huddersfield vs Watford

Huddersfield Town will be looking to put an end to their six-game losing run in the Premier League when they host Watford at their John Smith’s Stadium on Matchday 35. The Terriers will compete in the Championship next season, but they surely want to finish the 2018/2019 season in style. The rock-bottom side have been totally out of form of late and we do not believe that they are capable of upsetting Watford in Saturday’s football game. The Hornets, on the other hand, did well to book their place in the FA Cup final and, as a result, they will represent England in the Europa League next term. Watford aim to finish the season in top ten and they are definitely capable of beating the out-of-sorts Terriers on the road. A man to watch in the away team will be attacker Gerard Deulofeu, who is enjoying a season to remember.

STAR MAN: Gerard Deulofeu (5.6m)

If fit, it’ll be a real test for the Terriers to handle him.

PREDICTION: Huddersfield 1-2 Watford

West Ham vs Leicester

London Stadium will host Saturday’s football game between West Ham United and Leicester City, the two teams who are eyeing a place in the top half of the standings. West Ham suffered a 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford at the weekend, with the team extending their losing run in the Premier League to three games. The Hammers head into the season finale with the lack of motivation, but they are definitely capable of grabbing something from the Leicester City game.Following four consecutive victories, the Foxes were beaten by Newcastle United at home in their last league match and, no doubt, they are eager to get back on course. Brendan Rodgers’ men did well to beat the likes of Burnley and Huddersfield Town in previous two away games in the Premier League, therefore, we believe that they are going to hold West Ham to a draw.

STAR MAN: Jamie Vardy (9.1m)

8 goals and 2 assists in the last 9 games. You have him in your side!?

PREDICTION: West Ham 1-1 Leicester

Wolves vs Brighton

Wolverhampton have yet to recover from a shocking loss to Watford in the FA Cup semis. The Wolves experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-1 loss to Southampton, but they remained in the top half of the Premier League standings. Nuno Espirito Santo’s troops are eager to secure a top-ten finish and they are seen as favourites to win Saturday’s football game against Brighton. The Seagulls, on the other hand, are on a three-game losing run in the English elite division, with the team suffering a heavy 5-0 defeat to Bournemouth at home in their last league fixture. Brighton sit in the danger zone in the Premier League standings ahead of the trip to Wolverhampton and seeing that the Wolves are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we predict that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed.

STAR MAN: Raul Jimenez (6.9m)

A potential star of the double gameweek. Must have for this one.

PREDICTION: Wolves 3-0 Brighton

Newcastle vs Southampton

Against all odds, Newcastle United defeated Leicester City at King Power Stadium on Matchday 35. The Magpies are now on the right track to secure the Premier League survival and a win over Southampton in the relegation six-pointer will see them almost meet their goal. Rafa Benitez’s troops, though, should be happy with one point from Saturday’s football game and we predict that they are going to adopt a cautious approach this time out.The Saints desperately needed a win against Wolverhampton and they managed to get one. The Saints are desperate to avoid relegation to the Championship and seeing that they have been in a fine form in 2019, we believe that the visitors are capable of holding Newcastle to a draw at St. James’ Park.

STAR MAN: Jamaal Lascelles (4.7m)

He will need to put out his A game against a pacey Saints side.

PREDICTION: Newcastle 0-0 Southampton

Everton vs Manchester United

Everton and Manchester United face each other at Goodison Park in what is expected to be one of the most entertaining games of the weekend. The Toffees suffered a shocking loss relegation strugglers Fulham at the weekend, meaning that the lack of confidence could be a big problem for the hosts against Man Utd. Marco Silva’s men are eyeing a top-ten finishing, but seeing that Manchester United face a must-win situation against Everton, home win should not be considered. The Red Devils are eyeing a place in the Champions League and we are positive that they are going to leave their hearts on the field in the Goodison Park showdown. Paul Pogba has been producing splendid displays in the Premier League ever since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over the reins at Manchester United and we predict that the France international is going to lead the visitors to a very important victory.

STAR MAN: Paul Pogba (8.7m)

He’s been at the eye of the storm ever since Ole’s arrived. We could indeed expect a promising display in this one as well.

PREDICTION: Everton 1-2 Manchester United

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace

Arsenal will be looking to extend their winning run at home to 11 games when they host Crystal Palace at their Emirates Stadium on Matchday 35. The Gunners have been producing fine performances under Unai Emery and they are still in the race for a place in the Champions League. Unai Emery’s troops are fighting hard to secure a top-four finish and we predict that they are going to stick to their attacking style of play against Palace.Arsenal are a real force to be reckoned with at home and we predict that they are going to prove their worth on the field. The Eagles failed to impress in a 3-1 loss to Man City and seeing that they have little to play for in the season finale, we are tempted to put our money on the hosts. In their last meeting at Emirates Stadium Arsenal defeated Palace 4-1.

STAR MAN: Alexandre Lacazette (9.4m)

After an important midweek Europa League goal, he will be looking to deliver yet again.

PREDICTION: Arsenal 3-1 Crystal Palace

Cardiff vs Liverpool

David faces Goliath at Cardiff City Stadium this weekend. Liverpool aim to retain top position in the Premier League standings, with the Bluebirds fighting hard to secure yet another top flight survival. The Reds proved their worth in a 2-0 win over Chelsea at the weekend and it seems as if key player Mohamed Salah has found his best form. The Egypt international has been producing fine performances of late and we are positive that he is going to pose a big threat for the opposition defenders.Cardiff City do not seem to be on top of their game ahead of the visit of Jurgen Klopp’s troops and seeing that they struggle in matches against top-table teams, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the league leaders. In their last meeting in Wales Liverpool hammered Cardiff City 6-3.

STAR MAN: Sadio Mane (10.1m)

A hammering could be in cards.

PREDICTION: Cardiff City 0-4 Liverpool

Chelsea vs Burnley

Following three consecutive wins Chelsea suffered a 2-0 loss to Liverpool in their last league match. The Blues are eyeing a place in the Champions League and, no doubt, they face a must-win situation in Monday’s football game against Burnley. Eden Hazard, who scored a brace in a 2-0 win over West Ham United, will be the man to watch in the home team and we predict that the Belgium international is going to lead the capital club to a very important victory on Matchday 35.The Clarets, on the other hand, did well to beat Cardiff City 2-0 at the weekend, with the team moving one step closer to securing the Premier League survival. Anyhow, Chelsea want this win more than Burnley, therefore, we believe that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed from the trip to London.

STAR MAN: Eden Hazard (11.0m)

If fit, he could be up for a field day at the Bridge.

PREDICTION: Chelsea 3-1 Burnley

Tottenham vs Brighton

After facing Manchester City twice in a week, this fixture will certainly feel like a cake walk for Pochettino and his boys. A win for the home side seems to be on cards.

STAR MAN: Heung min Son (8.8m)

Bang on form in Kane’s absence. He could be the one to deliver the goods this double gameweek.

PREDICTION: Tottenham 2-0 Brighton

Watford vs Southampton

Both the Hornets and the Saints come into this game on the back of completely opposite results. Watford will be looking to bounce back after the disappointment against the Gunners and with the home crowd behind them, they just edge the tie.

STAR MAN: Andre Gray (5.9m)

Time to step up in the absence of club captain Troy Deeney.

PREDICTION: Watford 2-1 Southampton

Wolves vs Arsenal

A must win game for Arsenal as the General look to seal a Champions League spot for next season, but keeping in mind Wolves’ record against the Top 6 sides, this might not be as easy for the Gunners as it may seems to them.

STAR MAN: Matt Doherty (5.3m)

His darting runs from the wings could be a real test for the ever changing Arsenal back 4.

PREDICTION: Wolves 2-1 Arsenal

Manchester United vs Manchester City

The double gameweek 35 ends with undoubtedly the game of the gameweek, with an age old rivalry being re-ignited. The Citizens certainly seems to be favourites for this one, but a certain Paul Pogba will certainly beg to differ. An upset on the cards!?

STAR MAN: Romelu Lukaku (10.8m)

His aerial presence will hold much importance in this one.

PREDICTION: Manchester United 2-1 Manchester City
