FPL Updates Gameweek 35 – Fantasy Premier League Tips

GW34 was another gameweek to forget. The second wildcard was at the other end of the scale in comparison to our first one in relation to the immediate returns. However, a Wildcard isn’t for one gameweek. The Brighton DGW turned out to be a trap for most managers and now we’re stuck with them for the coming weeks!

39 was well below the 54 points average and that was mainly due to Bournemouth. Of course Brooks bags 12 points the week we sell him after carrying him for 4 blanks. Pogba was also sold on wildcard who scored 2 penalties for 15 points. He blanked for fun last month. The only thing you can do is laugh. Overall rank is 40k so a big push is needed this week and hopefully bench boost will do that.

Ryan and Duffy amassed 2 points combined in their double gameweek. I wasn’t expecting a huge haul but I’m majorly disappointed. Looks like I’m stuck with them in next week’s side too. Laporte’s clean sheet was wiped out in the final 10 minutes to a Milivojevic set-piece. Doherty was brought off agonisingly in the 59th minute for a doughnut. Annoying TAA was benched for an 8 pointer against Chelsea.

Mané bagged a goal and a bonus point. KDB was back to his usual self with 2 assists and 3 bonus points. Jota blanked in Wolves’ defeat to Southampton. The Spurs duo of Eriksen and Son combined for 14 points. Son being benched was frustrating but a last minute assist outscored vice captain Duffy in 4 minutes compared to his 180. Eriksen only came out with an assist in the 4-0 and had plenty of chances to outscore his 6 points

Aguero blanked and was taken off in the 70th minute. With hope going into the Monday night game, Deeney was sent off within a handful of minutes into the game for a minus 2 pointer and a transfer booked in already. Jimenez and Wolves in general were poor as all 3 blanked.

Transfers: Deeney -> Wilson

Foster, Laporte and Doherty all have 2 games. Laporte has two big 6 sides but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him pick up 1 clean sheet. Wolves have 2 home games but haven’t been great at the back and Doherty hasn’t picked up an attacking return since GW27. Foster have 2 favourable games too, so a fee saves and 1 clean sheet would be nice Ben. TAA is the only non-DGW defender who travels to Cardiff.

Son and Eriksen are coming off the back knocking Man City out of the Champions league and face them again in their first game. Son is suspended for the first leg of the semi final, so I expect him to play both but I have a feeling Eriksen may get a rest against Brighton. Mane is the second single gameweek player but is fantastic form. At £10.1m he’s proving great value in comparison to Salah.

The Wolves and City triple ups are looking key for our side this week. Jota and Jimenez who are up top for Nuno’s side have two juicy home against a leaky Brighton and Arsenal defence. KDB and Aguero haven’t the easiest of games on paper but City will have full focus on the league and neither Spurs and Man Utd have strong defences. De Bruyne looks great value and I can’t see him not playing both. Aguero was brilliant in the last DGW but didn’t look that threatening against Palace. If I could go back in time I probably would have gone Sterling over him.

On the bench is double Brighton defence. The less said about them the better. I’ll be over the moon if they can amass 4 points each. New purchase Wilson has Fulham at home, the side who’s conceded the most goals in the league. Bednarek is the last man in the bench boost with two away trips.

Captain: The results of the Champions League was a big factor to who got the armband. As City are out I expect to see Spurs rotate in their second game against their easier opponent, Brighton. Out of all City attackers, I think KDB is the best bet for both games. He’s pulling the strings like his normal self but it’s never easy to not give Aguero the armband in a DGW. Jimenez has two nice games and I was very tempted to give him the armband but I’m not sure of Wolves’ frame of mind after their FA Cup exit.
