Gameweek 18 Sky Tips – Fantasy Football Tips

There’s no rest for the wicked when it comes to Fantasy football and Christmas. Transfers are very useful at this time of year and the next couple of gameweeks come thick and fast. It’s worthwhile if you’ve got a bit of spare time to plan your next few moves and captains, as it will be extremely beneficial.

The games are coming thick and fast and GW18 is over already. Managers seem to be coming and going like game weeks over Christmas, so new teams and players are becoming viable to pick, causing the template to shift. There’s a number of single and double match days to come over Christmas, so it’s important to have some sort of plan to tackle the festive period.

Goalkeepers

6 clean sheets were kept this week, which was higher than normal. Thanks to Grealish’s penalty miss, Henderson high scored with 14. Ramsdale kept a rare Bournemouth CS at Stamford bridge. Ederson was back in the points with a CS for the first time in 7 gameweeks. Another one of the big six didn’t concede and that was Liverpool. However, the premium keepers are taking a battering this season.

Defenders

It was a relatively quiet week at the back with a defender only scoring once and 2 picking up assists. VVD looks like the pick of the Liverpool backline once again. He’s rotation proof and he’s picking up Tier 2 passing again. His cheaper teammate, Gomez, matched his score, while Robertson was rotated. Man City’s fixtures are starting to pick up and Otamendi has found a way to get back into the points with a CS, goal and passing bonus over the last 3 GWs. I’d be cautious with Stones nearly back fit. Vertonghen £9.5m is starting to become an attacking threat with a goal and an assist in the last 2 GWs. Teammate Aurier has caught my eye with his constant flow of tackle bonus Burn was not far off a haul on MNF as he made tackle bonus and was 5 passes of passing bonus.

Midfielders

What a gameweek for KDB! It was a masterclass performance where he braced and assisted at The Emirates. A whopping 23 pointer would sent people flying up the ranks if you gave him the armband on Sunday. He’s now owned by 86% of the top 1k. Fleck scored his fourth of the season with a brace and MOTM performance against Aston Villa. Fleck is a bit of an all or nothing player but he does pick up the odd bonus here or there. When Traore does anything in a game, he’s nearly automatically given MOTM. He earned his 6th of the season with his 6th attacking return. He scored and peppered the goal with Tier 2 SoT bonus. It was a quiet week otherwise with the popular players like Alli, McGinn and Mount all blanking.

Forwards

Mo Salah is catching Mane up rapidly with 34 points in his last 2 matches. He picked up back to back goals, MOTM and SoT bonus. His blank this week gives you the opportunity to assess which of the two attackers you prefer. Budget strikers Maupay and Wood both needed and won MOTM for a 12 point return. I really like the look of Maupay and that’s his 3rd double figure score in a row. Pukki and Sterling were also back in the goals. Vardy finally failed to score but still returned a handy 7 pointer.

Captain conundrums

Saturday: This is a tricky day. Inform KDB against 2nd place Leicester who aren’t shabby at the back. Everton and Arsenal could go either way with both sides potentially having their new manager watch over them. Aubameyang and Richarlison aren’t bad options.

Sunday: Rashford away at Watford or one of the Spurs trio (Kane/Son/Alli). I’d be leaning towards the Spurs players against Chelsea.

Boxing day: 9 matches, plenty of choice. Rashford at home to Newcastle or a Spurs player against Brighton. In other words these to teams will cover you for those 2 days.

Friday: KDB
