20 games in 6 days, what more could you want? Double gameweeks are coming thick and fast and so are the points. Let’s see how everyone did.
Goalkeepers
Everton were the only team to keep back to back clean sheets, with Pickford scoring an 18 pointer. Foster had a massive game against Man Utd returning 12 points as well as save points in both games and a cheeky MOTM. McCarthy also had a big game against a big 6 side. He kept out Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as well as 5 save bonuses across the week. Heaton also came away with a rare CS and scored maximum points as a keeper with 12.
Defenders
TAA only needed one game to become the week’s highest scoring player with a goal, 2 assists, MOTM and SoT bonus. 25 points, Mental! Southampton’s Stephens scored and kept a CS (1st in 14 GWs) in his 2 games for a huge 22. Sidibe was deployed as a right wing-back in his first game under Ancelotti and he assisted the winner. Kabasele assisted and returned a CS against Man Utd. Webster netted his third of the season against Spurs, as well as passing bonus against SHU. Doherty scored his 3rd of the season against City and assisted his 3rd against Norwich.
Luiz and Maguire kept passing bonus in both games. VVD also hit 70+ in his single game. Aurier hit tackle bonus in both his games along with an assist.
Midfielders
Willian’s brace and MOTM in the London derby left him just shy of 20 points in 1 game. He blanked in his second against Southampton, but has good fixtures till the overhaul. Almiron scored his first ever Newcastle goal, which won him MOTM. He also returned tackle bonus in both his matches. Traore has his typical all or nothing performance, with a goal, assist, SoT and yet another MOTM against Man City. He’s a bargain at £6.9m. KDB and Mahrez both returned 11 pointers against Leicester. The Belgian assisted in both his games and picked up tackle and SoT bonus, while Mahrez scored and had SoT bonus. Gundogan scored and also hit 60+ passes. Grealish scored and assisted across his two games and he’s got some nice fixtures still to come. Alli scored his 6th of the season with his first real impact on the game and hit SoT bonus. Norwood scored his first of the season from the spot and reached passing bonus.
Fred £7.9m picked up Tier 2 passing in both his games while Xhaka and Milivojevic were unlucky not to get close to him with 59 passes in one of their games. The bonus magnet Fernandinho scooped passing and tackle bonus.
Forwards
Jimenez scored in both his matches against Norwich and Man City. He also picked up an assist and SoT bonus in both. Ings broke the 100 point barrier with a brace and MOTM against Villa. He was only a sub in the second game against Chelsea, but that 18 pointer was his highest of the season. His next matches are a mixed bag, but his form is undeniably good. Kane scored on Boxing day and earned MOTM. Martial returned a 17 pointer as he was MOTM against Newcastle. His brace was his 6th goal of the season.
Ayew scored, assisted and was MOTM against West Ham for a massive 15 pointer, but that was his first return since the end of November. Sterling assisted in his first game and had a hectic game against Wolves. He braced as well as missing 2 penalties (1 of which was retaken). Firmino just need a single game to return his second double figure haul of the season. His brace earned him 14 points against Leicester.
Captain conundrums
Saturday: Vardy away to struggling West Ham looks a safe pick. Alli or Kane against Norwich could have a high ceiling. Rashford away to Burnley if you trust United.
Sunday: Salah/Mane against Wolves. KDB against Sheffield UTD another good option.
Wednesday: Vardy away to Newcastle is a good pick, but The Magpies are stronger at home. A Man City player against Everton, but the Blues could be benefiting from the new manager bounce. Spurs away to Southampton is also a safe choice.
Thursday: A Liverpool attacker or defender.
