Norwich City FPL Preview – Fantasy Football Tips

Norwich, winner of the Championship last season and one of the three newly promoted sides will be looking to begin the season the way they ended their Championship campaign. They have a couple of exciting players and ones we should most definitely add to our watchlist.

Teemu Pukki priced £6.5m in FPL is Norwich’s forward and goal-scorer, he finished on an astonishing 29 goals last season for Norwich making him the highest goal-scorer in the Championship for the 2018/19 season. He also racked up 10 assists which is equally impressive.

Other players to watch include Max Aarons (DEF) who registered eight attacking returns last season. Hernandez and Vrancic (MID’s) both registered 17 attacking returns last season and are also two for the watchlist.

It’ll be interesting to see how the team and players adapt to the premier league.

Pre-season

Norwich played a total of FIVE notable friendlies in pre-season:
2-1 win over Schalke – Goals: Pukki & Leitner
3-1 loss vs Brentford – Goal: Beundia
5-1 win over Luton Town – Goals: Drmic (x3), Roberts & Stierpermann
4-1 loss vs Atlanta Utd – Goal: Cantwell
1-0 win over Toulouse – Goal: McLean

Mixed results for Nowrich over pre-season, probably a wait-and-see to how they adapt to the Premier League.

Star man – Teemu Pukki (£6.5m)

Great record in the Championship, Norwich’s go to player and main goal-scorer. His 29 goals and 10 assists last season can’t go unnoticed.

He only costs 6.5m in FPL which could turn out to be a bargain if he continues his form and Norwich find their feet in the top flight.

By the end of the season I no doubt expect to see Pukki as Norwich’s highest scoring FPL player. It is vital he performs again this season if Norwich have hopes of staying up.

Hidden Gem – Mario Vrancic (£6.5m)

Norwich’s star midfielder has to be their German number 8, Mario Vrancic. He was a key part of the attack last season, assisting 7 goals and scoring 10. These are impressive numbers for a midfielder.

He alongside his target-man have vital roles to play. Again, if he begins the season in-form he could become a serious bargain. He currently only selected by 0,3% which just proves how much of a differential he is.

He has been added to my watchlist.

Gamble Pick – Max Aarons (£4.5m)

Aarons is Nowich’s right-back. Norwich aren’t particularly great at keeping clean sheets. They only managed 13 last season in 46 matches.

Aarons falls under my gamble pick purely because Norwich fail to keep clean sheets, however he poses an attacking threat. He is a right wing-back and gets forward a lot. He managed eight attacking returns last season including 2 goals and 6 assists.

He is most definitely a gamble pick especially since we do not yet know how Norwich’s backline will cope in the top flight. Another one for the watchlist however.

Predicted Lineup

Farhmann
Aarons – Godfrey – Klose – Lewis
McLean – Vrancic
Buendia – Stiepermann – Hernandez
Pukki
