Jack Clarke – Fantasy Football Potential

Tottenham have signed Jack Clarke from Leeds United for a fee believed to be around £8.5 million, albeit with the youngster returning to Leeds on a season long loan. Clarke is Spurs’ second signing of the summer after they signed Kion Etete from Notts County.

Aged just 18, Clarke highly thought of and has signed a deal with Spurs keeping him at the club until 2023. The winger impressed last season at Leeds and here’s what he has had to say about his move to Tottenham:

“Ever since I’ve been growing up, I’ve seen Tottenham playing in the Premier League, they’ve always been there or thereabouts, pushing, being a top side. It’s one of the biggest clubs in England, if not the world, and I’m just delighted to be a part of it.”

Player History

Jack Clarke has progressed through the Leeds United Youth academy and after impressing in the under-23’s he made his first team debut in 2017 against Leicester City in the EFL Cup, whilst he eventually made his league debut against Brentford in October 2018.

Over the course of last season Clarke featured on 22 occasions for Bielsa’s side in the league, playing 894 minutes, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists. Although Clarke only made his league debut last season, he impressed enough to be awarded Leeds’ young player of the season.

Fantasy Football Potential

As highlighted, Clarke will spend the 2019/20 Premier League season on loan with Leeds United in the Championship, so it will be highly unlikely that he makes an appearance in Fantasy Premier League this coming season as he focuses on helping Leeds go one step further than last season.

That said, Clarke may be one for the future, with the lively winger looking to improve upon last seasons performances.
