Gameweek 11 Captaincy Analysis – Fantasy Football Tips

Gameweek 10 saw Leicester City players score big and the majority of the big hitters return some form of fantasy points. Our captaincy selections returned an average of 5.6 points, with only Jimenez pulling down the average with a blank against Newcastle! But before we look at this weeks captaincy picks, here’s how last weeks picks did:

1. Raheem Sterling – 11 points
2. Tammy Abraham – 5 points
3. Raul Jimenez – 2 point
Differential – Richarlison – 5 points
Gamble – Saido Mane – 5 points

Fingers crossed for better returns this week, here’s our top picks for the up coming gameweek:

1. Raheem Sterling (SOU)

Think the best game you could possibly wish for is Southampton, given that they have just lost a record 9-0 to Leicester last week, and they were at home! This time, it’s Man City’s turn to get a go against Southampton, and considering how badly they defended last week, it’s no surprise to see Sterling as the number one pick for this week. He’s scored 7 goals and assisted once so far this season, containing his form from last season and is certainly one of the best players in the league so far this year!

2. Saido Mane (AVL)

Another game, another win for Liverpool and more points for Mane, albeit not that many as he only got an assist last week vs Spurs. That takes his tally up to 5 goals and 3 assists now for the season, and it could increase as they take on Aston Villa this week, a team who have only kept two clean sheets all season. With Liverpool and Mane in this form, he’s certainly one to think about for captaincy this week!

3. Tammy Abraham (WAT)

Another player in blistering form so far this season is Abraham, scoring 8 goals and assisting once so far this season, slightly better than Sterling’s record but not totally surprising, considering that he is Chelsea’s main striker. He was unlucky not to do better last week against Burnley, but I think he’ll do well against Watford, a team who have struggled all year, and were woeful against Everton in the cup, lucky not to concede more than 2! I think with Chelsea in such good form, I think Abraham can really run riot against Watford this week!

Differential – Leandro Trossard (NOR)

Some of you might not even know him, but he’s a really good player in my opinion. He’s just come back from injury and single-handedly won the game for Brighton last week vs Everton, getting an assist too in the 3-2 win. He’s only played three times this season, but has a goal and an assist to his name, and I expect him to get more this year. They take on Norwich this week at home who have been struggling recently, and I think Trossard may be that player that Brighton need to spark their attack!

Gamble – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (WOL)

Feels strange saying that one of the best strikers in the league is a gamble, at home against Wolves too, but with Emery’s future in doubt, and the fact that Aubameyang hasn’t scored in his last three is enough to put doubt over whether or not you should captain him this week. There’s no doubting his talent, but you wonder how long Emery has left at Arsenal, especially with recent results going against them. At the moment though, it’s definitely risky captaining an off-form player, but he’s failed to blank more than 3 gameweek’s in a row in the Premier League, which is worth noting!
