Gameweek 12 Captaincy Analysis – Fantasy Football Tips

Gameweek 11 saw a great haul for our captaincy selections, with four of our five picks scoring an average of 11 points, with the fifth, Sterling, blanking. But before we look at this weeks captaincy picks, here’s a breakdown of how last weeks picks did:

1. Raheem Sterling – 1 point
2. Saido Mane – 12 points
3. Tammy Abraham – 12 point
Differential – Leandro Trossard – 11 points
Gamble – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 8 points

Fingers crossed for better returns this week, here’s our top picks for the up coming gameweek:

1. Tammy Abraham (CRY)

The midweek Champions League game with Chelsea and Ajax was certainly a thriller! 4 goals for Chelsea, including an assist for Abraham and it really is the story of this Chelsea side so far this season – goals! They have only failed to score in one game once so far, against Man United back in August, which feels like it was 3 years ago. Abraham has scored 9 goals so far this season, assisting twice too, and is one of the most popular players in FPL, and will definitely be a very popular captaincy pick when Chelsea play Palace this week.

2. Heung-Min Son (SHU)

In case you didn’t know, Son’s red card was overturned by the FA this week, which again questions why VAR didn’t intervene in the first place. He continued his decent run of form in the Champions League, scoring once and was unlucky not to score more. He only got 2 goals and 5 assists all season, which doesn’t sound like much but it’s clear to see how influential he is for this Spurs side.

3. Jamie Vardy (ARS)

I was torn between Vardy and Maddison for the captaincy option, however I’ve gone for a more safe pick in Vardy. He’s one of the top scorers in the league this season, scoring ten times and assisting twice so far. They take on an Arsenal side that have only kept one clean sheet since gameweek 2, and have leaked goals in left right and centre, which is a great sign for Vardy owners. Leicester have been lethal in front of goal all season, and I don’t think they’ll stop this week!

Differential – Leandro Trossard (MUN)

Second game week in a row where Trossard appears as the differential, but he’s absolutely quality! He got a goal and an assist last week against Norwich, despite not starting neither, however I’m confident he’ll start this week. It’s clear to see that he’s by far Brighton’s best attacker, and whenever he plays, they look like a threat going forward. He’s still only owned by 0.3% too! If you don’t captain him, make sure you own him as he’s the best £5.8m you’ll ever spend in FPL.

Gamble – Saido Mane (MCI)

Could have been De Bruyne, could have been Aguero, but I have chosen Mane this week. Firstly, it’s the Man City vs Liverpool game on Sunday, which could easily go either way, I can’t decide who’ll win it! Man City look likely that Emerson will be out injured, as well as there other defensive injuries that they’ve suffered these past few weeks. Mane has come back into good form, scoring and assisting last week to lead Liverpool to a late win against Villa. It’s a huge gamble because it could go either way, but if you’re feeling risky, go for it!
