Gameweek 19 Captaincy Analysis – Fantasy Football Tips

The games are coming thick and fast and we are now looking down the barrel at gameweek 19. The deadline is fast approaching, but before we look at this weeks captaincy picks, here’s a breakdown of how last weeks picks did:

1. Marcus Rashford – 2 points
2. Neal Maupay – 2 points
3. Kevin De Bruyne – 4 points
Differential – Richarlison – 3 point
Gamble – Son Heung-Min – (1) points

Fingers crossed for better returns this week, here’s our top picks for the up coming gameweek:

1. Tammy Abraham (SOU)

He may not be in amazing form, but it’s more the opposition as to why Abraham is the number one pick for this week. Southampton are a side who have really struggled defensively, with their last clean sheet being in GW5. In fact, Vestegaard has the most points of the Southampton defenders, and he hasn’t played in 7 weeks. Abraham May be struggling in front of goal, but he is getting a few chances in most of these games, and I do think he’s been unlucky not to be on the scoresheet these past few gameweeks!

2. Harry Kane (BHA)

After Son’s red card last week, I had to switch this weeks number two position to another Spurs players, Harry Kane. He’s scored 9 times this season for Tottenham, amazingly that’s one of his worse records for a start to the season in his career, but it is still a pretty good tally! They take on a Brighton side who again are struggling at the back, keeping only one clean sheet since gameweek 7. With Son out for the next few games, Spurs need their main man to start getting into better form!

3. Marcus Rashford (NEW)

Manchester United this season are a bizarre side to predict; one week they’re unbelievable, smashing Man City in the Derby, the next week they’re getting blown away to the team sitting bottom of the table. No consistency with this side, and they really struggle to break sides down who sit back. This week will probably be no different against Newcastle, but I do think Rashford will do well this week. After not blanking at all since gameweek 9, he’s now blanked twice in a row, but I don’t see that extending this week!

Differential – Dominic Calvert-Lewin (BUR)

I was torn between choosing DCL or Moise Kean as the differential, but I’ve gone for probably Everton’s best player these past few weeks. I’ve been a huge fan of Calvert-Lewin for a while now, I think he’s got huge potential, and it’d be really interesting to see how he performs under new manager Carlo Ancelotti. He’s only scored 5 goals all season as Everton’s starting striker, but I think he’s a lot better in a system that has two strikers, which is exactly how Ancelotti sets up! He’s only owned by 1%, and if he does well, he could be a fantastic differential for the next few weeks!

Gamble – Jamie Vardy (LIV)

At first I thought that Vardy may be getting a well earned rest, then I saw who Leicester faced this week! What can you say about Liverpool that hasn’t already been said, they’re a world class team that has be unstoppable all season, and yet I still think Leicester may come away with something! Vardy is bang in form at the minute, and Liverpool have proved that they struggle to keep clean sheets, only managing 5 all year! It’s a big gamble considering how good Liverpool are, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Vardy gets on the scoresheet!
