Gameweek 21 Captaincy Analysis – Fantasy Football Tips

The final gameweek of the festive fixtures is among us and the deadline is fast approaching, but before we look at this weeks captaincy picks, here’s a breakdown of how last weeks picks did:

1. Kevin De Bruyne – 14 points
2. Marcus Rashford – 9 points
3. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 9 points
Differential – Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 12 point
Gamble – Tammy Abraham – 7 points

Fingers crossed for even better returns this week, here’s our top picks for the up coming gameweek:

1. Jamie Vardy (NEW)

After not playing in the last game due to his wife giving birth, Vardy should be somewhat rested and raring to go. Leicester will want to get back to winning ways after some disappointing results over the past few gameweek and a fixture against Newcastle may be a perfect opportunity. Vardy has been in terrific goal scoring form this season and will want to continue that this gameweek.

2. Mohamed Salah (SHU)

A flip of the coin between Mohamed Salah and Saido Mane. As Mané scored the points last week, it may be Salah’s turn this week, but either would be good options for the captaincy as Liverpool host an in form Sheffield United. That said, Liverpool will want to continue their form into the new year and it’s unlikely that The Blades will stop this.

3. Tammy Abraham (BHA)

Chelsea have been in a bit of poor form with them losing games that they should really be winning. This week they travel to Brighton, who to be fair to them have been playing well recently. It could be a tough affair, but if Abraham finds his shooting boots then they will be able to put this game to bed. Abraham will also be keen to keep in touching distance of Jamie Vardy for the golden boot.

Differential – Sergio Aguero (EVE)

Aguero is owned by just 10% of fantasy managers, which makes him a great differential to own now he is back fit. This will Manchester City face a tough game against Everton as they come off the back of a 2-0 victory against Sheffield United. In the last 5 league games Everton haven’t beaten City, with their last victory being a 4-0 thrashing in January 2017. With the form De Bruyne and co are in, Aguero should relish being up top with the chance to score a few this gameweek.

Gamble – Marcus Rashford (ARS)

Manchester United have a trip to the Emirates this gameweek, which makes captaining Marcus Rashford a little bit of a gamble this gameweek. We all know Rashford likes a goal against the Gunners and if Manchester United are to come away with the victory they will be hoping their main man finds the back of the net once again!
