Gameweek 28 Captaincy Analysis – Fantasy Football Tips

This week see’s 4 teams blank, making this the perfect gameweek to make some headway in your fantasy leagues if you have planned well. The deadline is as always, fast approaching, but before we look at this weeks captaincy picks, here’s a breakdown of how last weeks picks did:

1. Mohamed Salah – 7 points
2. Richarlison – 6 points
3. Kevin De Bruyne – 3 points
Differential – Steven Bergwijn – 2 points
Gamble – Anthony Martial – 8 points

Fingers crossed for even better returns this week, here’s our top picks for the up coming gameweek:

1. Mohamed Salah (WAT)

Can’t be too surprising to see Salah as the number one captaincy pick this week, he’s been on fire recently! He’s only blanked twice in the last 8 gameweek’s, scoring 6 times and assisting twice, taking his tally for the season up to 21 goals/assists, a terrific record for someone having an ‘off-season’! This week, Liverpool take on Watford, and with the league title getting ever closer, I can only see this going one way!

2. Raul Jimenez (TOT)

On paper, this is a relatively huge Gameweek for the race for European Football next season. I’m wildly assuming that Man City’s appeal will obviously be successful, but there’s about 5/6 teams fighting for Europe, Wolves and Spurs are no exception! Jimenez has been brilliant recently and did not feature in the midweek game, getting a well earned rest. Spurs have only kept three clean sheets since gameweek 5 too, so I think Jimenez will end up on the scoresheet this week!

Differential – Dominic Calvert-Lewin (MUN)

With several teams having a blank week this week due to the Carabao Cup, it means that there’s less players to feature this Gameweek! If you watched Everton against Arsenal last week, you’d know how unbelievably frustrating it was to own Calvert-Lewin. He started off unbelievably well, scoring a bicycle kick inside a minute, and honestly should have had a hattrick, considering some of the chances he missed! He’s been in brilliant from and if he buries those chances against Man United, he could have a huge haul!

Gamble – Jamie Vardy (NOR)

A gamble for many reasons, but it’s mainly due to his poor form lately, and also coinciding with Leicester’s poor from in front of goal in the last couple of games, although I don’t see both of them lasting very long, as this week, they take on Norwich, who have only kept three clean sheets since gameweek 9! It’s only a matter of time before Vardy breaks this mini drought that he’s currently in; I’d be very surprised if he didn’t end up on the scoresheet this weekend!
