BGW28 was an expected low scoring week with 2 games blanking. The side was saved on Sunday thanks to a certain Wolves duo.
The late announcement of the DGW has meant I’ve had to change my planned moves with Man City and Arsenal playing twice.
The side is currently neck a neck with its highest rank of the season at 280k.
It was bleak at the back with only 1 of 5 keeping clean sheets. Liverpool and Southampton shipped 3 goals each and Soyuncu conceded against Leicester. New signing Taylor kept a much needed clean sheet in a bore draw against Newcastle.
Cantwell kept a clean sheet point which is worth noting in this horrible week. Salah blanked on the road once again. Traore started but blanked against Spurs.
Ings came off the bench for half an hour in his blank. I was saved this week by our Wolves attacking duo. Jota’s last minute signing due to Vardy’s injury paid off big time with a goal and an assist against Spurs. Jimenez also got on the score sheet and they amassed 4 bps between them.
Transfers: Ings -> Aubameyang
The backline and keeper are all at home this week. McCarthy has a great shot against a poor Newcastle attack. TAA and Robbo look to bounce back after their first defeat of the season against Bournemouth who’ve been hit and miss. Stevens is fit for his game at home to Norwich. SHU have only kept 1 CS in 5 which, so hopefully they’re due.
KDB is away to Utd after his league cup win last week. He’s an injury doubt for his DGW, which is so frustrating. Grealish travels to Leicester after his blank last week. Salah’s home to Bournemouth and we know he loves facing The Cherries. However, their woeful form has somewhat improved. Traore just keeps his place in the side for this week thanks to the DGW altering my plans.
Jimenez and Jota are at home to Brighton who’ve kept 1 CS in 16 games! Aubameyang comes in for his DGW. He’s a short term punt for 2 gameweeks to hopefully propel us up the ranks. West Ham is the game I’m banking on most.
Captain: Aubameyang. Nailed on for both games unlike KDB, so he takes the armband.
