Gameweek 7 is nearly upon us and as many fantasy leagues are starting to take shape, fantasy managers will be looking to get the edge over their rivals this week. Our gameweek preview will provide an analysis, star men and predictions, so read on to find out more!
Sheffield United vs Liverpool
After 0-2 victory against Everton, Sheffield United will be looking to cause an upset this gameweek as they host top of the league Liverpool. The Blades really don’t have anything to loose, however the Reds will be looking to continue their unbeaten run and it’s unlikely that it’ll be broken this weekend, however if Norwich City can beat Man City there is hope for Sheffield United.
Star Man – Mohamed Salah (£12.5m)
Many will be handing the Egyptian the armband this weekend and rightly so.
Prediction: Sheffield United 1-4 Liverpool
Aston Villa vs Burnley
Without European football, Burnley have had a good start to the campaign, sitting in the top half of the league, whilst Villa currently sit in the relegation zone and will want to come away with 3 points.
Star Man – Chris Wood (£6.2m)
The man in form, can he find the back of the net again this week?
Prediction: Aston Villa 2-2 Burnley
Bournemouth vs West Ham
Both Bournemouth and West Ham have had great starts to the season and are in good form. This one could be a tight affair, with plenty of goals if their last few games are anything to consider.
Star Man – Callum Wilson (£7.8m)
Prediction: Bournemouth 3-2 West Ham
Chelsea vs Brighton
Having a transfer ban seems to have done Chelsea the world of good, with them “having” to play their youth players. The likes of Mount, Abraham and co have all done brilliantly and its highly unlikely that Brighton will stop them this gameweek as the Blues host the Seagulls at Stamford Bridge.
Star Man – Mason Mount (£6.6m)
Mount has been in terrific form this season and he will want continue this against Brighton.
Prediction: Chelsea 3-1 Brighton
Crystal Palace vs Norwich
Palace host Norwich this gameweek, a fixture which could be a tight affair, with Norwich sitting in 16th after what has been a tough but impressive start to their Premier League campaign. The Eagles will want to continue their push for a top half of the league finish, but may struggle to break down Norwich who have come away with victories against Manchester City and Newcastle so far this season.
Star Man – Teemu Pukki (£7.1m)
Will the Pukki party continue?…
Prediction : Crystal Palace 1-2 Norwich
Tottenham vs Southampton
Spurs need to bounce back this week, after defeat against Newcastle and being knocked out of the cup by Colchester. This gameweek they host the Saints who haven’t been in the best of form, but find themselves 13th in the table. Spurs should really come away with the victory, but I sure wouldn’t be against another upset!
Star Man – Harry Kane (£11.0m)
Spurs’ star man really needs to find his shooting boots if they are to come away with the win.
Prediction: Tottenham 2-1 Southampton
Wolves vs Watford
Both Wolves and Watford find themselves propping up the Premier League table, with them sitting 19th and 20th respectively. An early 6 pointer, see’s both teams wanting to claim the victory and get their season back on track, but this could be a cagey affair.
Star Man – Raul Jimenez (£7.3m)
Last seasons top scorer for Wolves will be pivotal in securing them the victory.
Prediction: Wolves 2-0 Watford
Everton vs Manchester City
City put 8 past Watford last gameweek and although its unlikely that they will put another 8 past Everton, its likely that they will come away victorious, especially with Everton having been defeated by Sheffield United at home last week.
Star Man – Sergio Aguero (£12.2m)
He could have scored a hattrick last gameweek, but he tends to always find the back of the net…. Same again this week?
Prediction: Everton 1-3 Manchester City
Leicester vs Newcastle
Leicester host Newcastle on the back of a 2-1 victory over Spurs in gameweek 6, whilst Newcastle could only secure a 0-0 draw against Brighton at home. Impressively, Leicester currently sit third in the league, just behind Manchester City and Liverpool, and its unlikely to change this gameweek with them favourites to beat Newcastle.
Star Man – Jamie Vardy (£8.9m)
With Maddison having picked up an ankle injury and being a doubt, Leicester will look towards Vardy for a source of goals.
Prediction: Leicester 2-0 Newcastle
Manchester United vs Arsenal
Arguably the fixture of the gameweek see’s Manchester United host Arsenal in the Monday night fixture. With the Red Devils struggling for form, Arsenal will look to capitalise on this and cement their spot in the top 4, whilst putting more misery upon Man United. United’s only hope however is the defensive frailty having conceded 9 goals in their last 4 fixtures, but will they be able to capitalise on this?
Star Man – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0m)
Yet to blank this season, Aubameyang will be key to the Gunners once again this week.
Prediction: Manchester United 1-2 Arsenal
