Fantasy Football Potential – Andrew Robertson

Andrew Robertson has switched from Hull City to Liverpool in a £10 million deal amid interest from other European clubs such as PSV Eindhoven and Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.

Here’s what Andrew Robertson had his to say about his move:

“When you grow up as a kid you dream of playing with big clubs such as Liverpool and to make that a reality is a dream come true for me”. “I just want to prove to people that I can do it at this level, and hopefully I manage to do that this season and do good things for this club.”

Manager Jurgen Klopp also added to this saying:

“For Andrew, this is another big step on what has been a quite incredible personal journey in a very short space of time”. “I know our environment will benefit him and help him push himself even more than he has already. This is a player who does not limit his ambition.”

Fantasy Football Potential

Robertson started of his professional career at Queens Park FC and switched to Dundee United in 2013. In 2014 he moved to Hull City for £2.9million and soon became a hot prospect, whilst being on the watch on many major English clubs.

Andrew Robertson could potentially be one of the best deals of this transfer window and £10 million could be argued a bargain for Liverpool considering the current market for defenders! For Hull in the 2016/17 season he made 31 appearances scoring 1 goal, picking up 2 assists and 5 clean sheets in the league alone.

At 23 years of age Robertson could be one for a future and a potential replacement of James Milner, who recently played left back in the 2016/17 season ahead of Spaniard Alberto Moreno. However, with Lucas Leivas’ departure, this could see Milner moving to a more central midfield position once again, which would leave the competition for left back open between Robertson and Moreno.

For FPL managers it may be worth keeping an eye on pre-season line ups for Liverpool to see who starts, as priced at 5.0m on Fantasy Premier League could be a steal for a starting XI player.

Liverpool’s opening fixtures are as follows: Watford (A), Crystal Palace (H), Arsenal (H), Manchester City (A) & Burnley (H).

Just wanted to point out that Andy played for Queen’s Park FC, not QPR, then moved to Dundee Utd, not Dundee.
