FPL Captaincy Analysis – Gameweek 26 Tips – Fantasy Premier League Tips

Last gameweek was an odd one, with some low scores from the popular picks, whilst players like Sam Clucas and Emre Can smashed it, scoring double digits! Before we look onto this week’s captaincy picks, here’s how gameweek 25’s FPL Captaincy Analysis did:

1. Sergio Aguero – 6 points
2. Mohamed Salah – 8 points
3. Eden Hazard – 2 points
Differential – Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 1 point
Gamble – Anthony Martial – 2 points

Now onto this week’s picks:

1. Sergio Aguero (BUR)

I was torn between Aguero or Salah for number one captaincy pick, however I’ve opted for the Man City man on the basis of form and fixtures. Considering Man City have been in phenomenal form all season, and Burnley’s defence seems to be leaking goals in the last 7-8 weeks, Aguero may end up on the scoresheet like he did in the reverse fixture. He’s scored 5 goals and assisted once in the last 4 games, and he’s solidified his position as striker due to the Jesus injury. He’s owned by 30% now, so any goal that he scores probably won’t do much to your ranking if you haven’t captained him!

2. Mohamed Salah (TOT)

He just cannot stop scoring can he!? Albeit a penalty, the goal he scored in the midweek match takes his tally up to 19 for the season, a fantastic record considering it is more or less his first season in the Premier League! This week might be a tough one for Liverpool, as they take on Spurs at Anfield, however they usually seem to do better when taking on the “Big 6” when playing at Anfield. Will this be any different?

3. Jordan Ayew (LEI)

This was intended to be a differential pick, however surprisingly, he’s owned by 11%, which is bizarre as he’s only came into form in the last few weeks. Ayew is seemingly struggling to maintain consistency. Every goal he scores results in a blank the following week, which has happened 3 times since gameweek 19. Swansea have been rejuvenated since Carvalhal took over as manager, Ayew has been in terrific form since he turned up, and this week, they take on Leicester, who defensively struggled against Everton last week. Whether that was down to Mahrez unsettling the team is yet to be known!

Differential – Alexis Sanchez (HUD)

After seemingly being brought down and fouled about 50 times against Spurs, he didn’t have a bad game. However, it shows us that Sanchez has already got a place in the starting 11. We all know how good he can be, but he needs to replicate the form from the 2016/17 season, which if he does, could prove him to be a very good differential. Man United play Huddersfield who have been struggling recently, conceding 3 to Liverpool, and United will be desperate to try and bounce back after their setback against Spurs last week.

Gamble – Theo Walcott (ARS)

I bet you wouldn’t have expected to see Theo as a gamble at the start of the season! He’s been in fantastic form since he came to Merseyside, scoring 2 and assisting once in the 2 games he’s played, and unlucky not to have scored a third in the game against Leicester. This week he takes on his former club. I would say that it’s inevitable for him to score, however it all depends on how Everton set up against Arsenal, hence why it is a huge gamble!
