A message to our loyal members and followers

Just over 6 years ago, FPL Updates was born. It started off as a fun way for 2 fantasy football addicts to be part of the FPL community, providing weekly tips, live goal & bonus point notifications, whilst also being a way to interact with some great, likeminded people. At that time, we’d never thought that we would be achieving the follower base we have today, hit over 4 million views on fplupdates.wpengine.com and create/curate over 2,200 pieces of original fantasy content.

Throughout the years, we have worked with some incredible people (too many to list, but to name a few); Premier Punt, The Punters Page, Yahoo Daily Fantasy, Fanteam Fantasy Sports, Football Fanager, Fantasy Football Pundits, FPL Hints, FPL Fly, Fantasy Eagles, Tom Mellor, FPL General, Fantasy Football Community, and FPL Tips.

We have also had the pleasure of working with some incredibly dedicated contributors such as; FPL Junior, Bonus FPL, FPL TIPZ, Lotmer FPL, FPL Avids, FPL Guru, Joe McPhee, Ryan Nevin, FPL vs, Dean Ammi, FPL Transfer Tips, JNO, Harry Clark and more!

Without the tireless efforts of those above and many more, none of this would have been possible and we are privileged to be part of such an incredible community.

During the past 2 months, whilst the majority of the world has come to a standstill, we have been considering the future of the brand. The COVID-19 pandemic has really given us the chance to step back and consider our next moves, not only professionally, but personally. FPL Updates is very much a small business, still directed by just 2 fantasy football fans. With that said, we have taken the difficult decision to make this season our last. This will be the last season that FPL Updates will be posting regular content.

Members

So, what does that mean for our members?

Well firstly, a massive thank you to those of you that have chosen to continue your membership throughout this global crisis. As of the end of May, which would’ve been the usual end to the football season, we will cancel all recurring payments through PayPal, but your membership will still be valid. Why? Well, although the season will continue past May, we want to make sure you get your membership’s worth so we will be producing the regular weekly content until the end of the 2019/20 Premier League season, whenever that may be, whilst also still offering the £1,000 FPL Updates league prize.

Those that paid for the annual membership will not be impacted as you have already committed to the end of May. Should you have any questions, please do contact us via email (fpl_updates@outlook.com) or via Twitter DM’s (@FPL_Updates).

Should you like to continue some form of FPL membership, we highly recommend the likes of Fantasy Football Hub (@FFH_HQ) who offer a great community and excellent, regular fantasy football content.

Future

This is not the end.

Going forward, we will look to post ad-hoc articles on fplupdates.wpengine.com. Therefore, these will not be calendared, adopting a more sporadic approach. This content will be free for all to read. This will enable us to realign our personal priorities, whilst also staying connected to the FPL community. Our Twitter handle will also remain active, posting some ad-hoc threads, discussions, etc. but there will not be the regular live updates.

We would also not rule out any future collaborations with other great fantasy football brands.

Overall, we would like to thank those again that have helped us on this incredible journey, without you all none of this would have been possible and we are truly privileged.

All the best,

Jacob & Mark.
