Gameweek 16 Sky Tips – Fantasy Football Tips

We witnessed our first DGW of the season and boy were there some big hauls. With 5 captain days scores were in the hundreds and the highest scorer of the Gameweek rallied 230 points! These are the gameweeks were holding your transfer back comes in handy.

Goalkeepers

There were just 6 clean sheets over the 20 games and only Crystal Palace kept back to back shutouts. Guaita came away with a whopping 22 points, securing save Tier 1 in both. He’s owned by under 1% and Palace’s fixtures are insane until the overhaul. If you need a budget keeper and a captain December 16th, he may be your man. The hammer’s Martin £5.7m racked up 19 points in his first two West Ham starts. He looks good value whole Fabianski is out, making Tier 2 saves in both. Newcastle Dubravka kept a clean sheet, but has made Tier 2 saves in all of his last 3 games.

Defenders

VVD has been quiet this season but came good against Brighton was a brace. Both were assisted by teammate TAA who picked up 3 over two games. The Dutchman isn’t as strong this season when it comes to passing bonus. The Leicester defence are the gift that keep on giving this Christmas. It was Evans turn this week with 2 passing bonuses and a tackle bonus. He also picked up a clean sheet with an assist against Watford. I’d honestly wouldn’t be against owning their whole backline and keeper. Doherty scores his second of the season and kept a clean sheet for Wolves. His next couple of fixtures aren’t the easiest and he’s not the cheapest at £8.5m.

Dunk and Webster returned 16 and 15 points against Arsenal and Liverpool. Dunk’s quick free kick earned him MOTM as well as passing bonus, while Webster scored the first against Arsenal. Willems keeps churning out the points for The Magpies with a goal and a clean sheet in his 2 games. Fixtures are reasonable in the short run. James £6.2m is beginning to start more games for Chelsea and he’s capable of attacking returns and pass bonus.

Midfielders

Alli is a different beast under Mourinho. He scored thrice, with a MOTM and 2 SoT bonus. His 30 pointer is justifying his initially dear £10.6m price tag. His fixtures are great, so it’s not too late to jump on. Shelvey doubled his goal tally in two games with a cracker against City and a controversial one against Sheffield Utd. KDB scores a screamer against Newcastle but he also made SoT bonus twice. His fixtures get a bit tougher but City have a captaincy day coming up. Richarlison was another player to net in both games, his fixtures are really bad, but Everton have a new manager which will be interesting. The expensive midfielders are finally showing up this season. Wilson braced against Spurs but his minutes are still an issue. JWP scored and assisted as Southampton are looking much better than they did.

Kovacic and Fernandinho were the only player to hit Tier 2 passing twice. Rodri came back from injury with a belter of a volley and passing bonus. Looking towards the fixtures, Aston Villa’s are beginning to improve and Grealish scored his 3rd of the season along with his 3rd MOTM.

Forwards

Rashford has really hit form. He braced against Spurs, picked up MOTM and assisted against Villa for a 20+ pointer. Jesus has benefited from Aguero’s injury with a a brace against Burnley. He was Motm and also hit the target at least twice in both games. Mané. Liverpool’s main Man(é) this season scored and assured twice against Everton. He’s now owned by 76% on the top 1k and continues to score well week in, week out. Pukki is back in the point with 3 8/9 point scores in a row. Fixtures aren’t bad for The Canaries. Ings has really hit a purple patch. The injury prone striker has scored in his last 4 games.

Son has emerged as an option under Mourinho he didn’t score but assisted twice and should be considered along with Alli. Abraham came back from the injury with a 12 pointer in 1 game against his old club. Sellers may be referring their choice. Mr reliable, Jamie Vardy scored for his SEVENTH game running. He’s insane.

Captain conundrums

Saturday: With fixtures don’t congested at this point of the season, the safest and most obvious move is to captain a Chelsea player against Everton. Mané is the standout out option away to Bournemouth if you’re willing to take a potential 0 pointer.

Sunday: Jamie Vardy or a Leicester defender. Simples.

Monday: I wouldn’t be buying anyone for this game. Aubameyang would’ve been my pick but I prefer Lacazette at the moment while Arsenal continue to struggle under Ljungberg.
