Gameweek 5 Differentials – Fantasy Football Tips

Differentials for GW5 – This article will look at 5 players selected by under 5% of managers that could be strong differentials for gameweek 5 for a one week punt to push managers up the overall rankings.

Felipe Anderson (£ 6.9m) – West Ham – 4.7% TSB

Next gameweek West Ham travel away to Aston Villa. Anderson has only returned 9 points total this season from 3 starts with one assist. However, West Ham’s attack has looked very strong this season and Felipe Anderson is key to this, so he must have attacking returns coming. Last season he showed streaks of form mainly caused to injuries to those around them but when he was firing he was a brilliant FPL asset. With his team now fully fit he should return to some of his best form.

Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m) – Manchester City – 3.1% TSB

In gameweek 5 City travel to Norwich. This is quite a risky pick for Man City as he has started 2 out of 4 of their opening matches as it depends whether Pep favours B.Silva on the RW or the CM position. However, if he does get the start then his skill and personal ability is surely too much for a weak and injured Norwich side to handle. We have seen glimpse of his form at City from what we saw at Leicester and so definitely has the ability for a big haul of FPL points as he did in gameweek 1 with 14 points away to West Ham.

Heung-Min Son (£9.5m) – Tottenham – 2.7% TSB

Next gameweek Spurs host Crystal Palace. Son has greatly underperformed so far this season as managers have picked him after gameweek 2 to be a big differential. He has returned a total of 7 points over 2 gameweeks with just one assist. However, against a Crystal Palace side which has been hugely overperforming I feel son can get going to the high levels we have seen before. With the likes of Alli and Ndombele being fit again for gameweek 5 Spurs should lineup their strongest team so far this season and will want to get back to winning ways. Son had the highest average position for spurs vs Arsenal and so his chances of scoring is high.

Wesley Moraes (£6.0m) – Aston Villa – 2.0% TSB

Next gameweek Villa host West Ham. West ham have the highest XGA (predicted goals against) so far this season and if you remove the stats from Man City in gameweek 1 they still finish 3rd worst. Wesley has looked promising and scored 1 goal so far this season against a fairly strong Everton side and so it shows Aston Villa do have the ability to score against most teams. Wesley is nailed to start so shouldn’t be a problem for managers. He is cheap so easy for managers to get into their teams so is a less risky punt compared to some of the more expensive players on this list.

Sead Kolasinac (£5.4m) – Arsenal – 0.8% TSB

Next gameweek Arsenal travel to Watford. Watford are currently sat bottom of the table with just 1 point and have sacked their manager over the international break and so it should be an easy opportunity for Arsenal to pick up 3 point. With Monreal leaving and Tiernay still not looking completely fit Kolasinac should still find his name on the team sheet this weekend. We saw last season how attacking he can be and so against this weak Watford side should definitely have attacking threat as well as clean sheet potential. Watford RB Kiko Femina loves to attack and so could leave a lot of room for Kolasinac to get in behind. Arsenal also have very good fixtures going forward so depending on Tiernay could be a good pick long term.
