FPL Updates XI – Gameweek 24 – FPL Tips

Gameweek 23 was certainly one to forget! A gameweek rank of 5.4m and benching Grealish’s 10 pointer was a disaster. The good news is it’s DGW and it’s time to activate the triple captain.

It was 1 points all round in defence apart from this seasons stand out defender TAA. The right back notched up his 11th assist of the season with a perfect corner. Elsewhere Leicester disappointed once again. Sidibé was benched but conceded anyway. McCarthy shipped two against Wolves.

Sarr had a stunning game against Tottenham but failed to return any fpl points. He limped off with a hamstring injury but was a menace down the Spurs’ left. Cantwell blanked but was unlucky not to pick up an assist with Pukki missing a one on one. The skipper blanked at home taking 6 shots, but failing to hit the target. Salah nicked an injury time goal but took off his shirt meaning he was booked and removed any chance of bonus.

It was 6 points combined for the front 3. Ings finally blanked against Wolves even though his side scored twice. Vardy missed a penalty and was pretty quiet for a whopping zero pointer. Maupay picked up an assist against Villa but was booked too.

Transfers: Rico -> Robertson. I decided to bank to second one and think for the longevity of the side and back the double defence over attack.

Fixtures like good on paper for the defence, but clean sheets have been rare of late. I’m dying for a keeper clean sheet and Palace away isn’t a terrible fixture. Soyuncu and Sidibé are at home and I’d like to get 1 clean sheet of the two. TAA and Robb have two fixtures and I’d be disappointed if they didn’t hit the 10 point mark.

Grealish has a home game to Watford who have been really impressive and have been keeping it tight at the back, so it’s going to be a tough game. However, with his form I can still see him returning. KDB travels to Sheffield United where he returned a 14 pointer in the reverse fixture. Salah is the key to success this week. He’s two tasty away games which should see plenty of goals. There’s a nice gap between games which should mean rotation isn’t as likely as most doubles.

Ings faces Palace who’ve been struggling to keep clean sheets but Hassenhuttl has been hinting at a rest, so I’m worried he may see some limited minutes. Vardy faces West Ham and is now without a goal in 5 gameweeks. I’m surprisingly considering his future in my side. Maupay travels to Bournemouth which couldn’t be a nicer fixture at the moment. He was unlucky not to get more last week and his long term fixtures are still good.

Captain – Salah. It was a tough choice between all 3 Liverpool assets but he edged it.
